Christmas Eve 2019

The church sanctuary is cavernous, and filled with people and a light show with a band on stage. Despite the concert atmosphere, the people are contemplative, singing with hands raised, some dancing, some with eyes closed, some kneeling. Kaze kneels, eyes to the ground, apparently not needing to see the words to the songs up on the huge screen above the worship band on stage. Tears flow freely down his cheeks, though his voice is clear, not choked by his emotions because he is not fighting to control them, letting them flow through and from him with the tears....

Where there are no words
And even breathing hurts
You’re my comforter
You won’t abandon me
You’re with me in the deep
And You won’t let me sink
This will be my great redemption
That while I weep
You’ll set my feet to dancing
This will be my great redemption
That while I weep
You’ll set my feet to dancing
Till You and me
Are the last ones standing
I learn to lean more than understanding
Cause You are always good
You are always good
