[Saber Sloth]

Trembling limbs stutter, when anticipated pain doesn't come. "ah..." A breath, then a wooden nod. Belated realizations crossing Jason's face. "Ya..." a murmur as he scoots down off the desk, and follows Sonnie to the bathroom.

The parents pay Sonnie's behaviour or Titania's comments no mind, as they continue to fuss over their screaming child. Now in full on tantrum. There's more worry in their gaze, trained on the gauze at it was.

The workers, forgotten as they had been, are clustered together, and pressed back. Pleased to be ignored, though there could be something done about the shrieking toddler. At least the parents weren't calling to watch the execution of a dog anymore. Though Karen, frowns, wondering just why and how her jacket was down on the floor...

The moment of truth was at hand. Had Boy the Hedgebeast been honest with her? They were about to find out.

In the restroom, Sonnie, after quickly making sure they were alone, gathered some paper towels or toilet paper, whatever was handy to wrap the kid's hand later. She stood by the sink and motioned for Jason to hold his bethorned hand over the porcelain basin. The Spring Courtier reached up one of her sleeves and removed a small steel knife, and she used the lighter to quickly disinfect the blade. She gave it a few moments to cool off.

Being as physically active as she was, between martial arts and parkour, the Beast was versed in first aid. Though treating bruises and sprains were a far cry from surgery, at least she knew something about medical procedures. She could deal with a small cut.

Once everything was prepared, Sonnie looked Jason in the eye. "Okay, you ready, dude?"

She stares impatiently at the now closed door, counting each second. It's not that she wishes for Sonnie to fail - well, maybe a little, but what friend doesn't want to see her friends fail every once in a while? Even though the child could be seriously harmed - but she half expects the result to be less than satisfactory. Reading an how to page over the web doesn't qualifies one as an open heart surgeon, and she's almost sure - from the little excerpt of conversation she's been able to gather - that the hedge infection was already past the stage of "knife in a restroom" fix.
Still, since the Monkey had elected to pay no attention to her suggestion. The prideful Fairest is content to just watch and wait.

Sucking in a breath then another, Jason nods firmly and shoves his hand out again.

Right sorry! Bad ST is bad! Please roll Dex+Medicine-1 for the unwieldy knife then either Sonnie or Titania can roll for first aid, or for a Contract if you'd like. The Hedge Bounty Fruit, Sonnie does not have access too, yet.

The Beast was no stranger in handling weaponry, but using a blade for medical reasons was new to her. Still, she possessed considerable manual dexterity, and she managed not to slice off any fingers in her attempt to excise the thorn.

She waits and waits. Nobody is screaming, so either the Simian has managed to perform the surgery herself, or the kid is dead.

Jason sobs fat, ugly tears, as the scar covering the Thorn is cleaved from his skin. Blood wells and spills. The boy shakes, but as the Monkey takes the Thorn from it's bedding, she can see the dogbite scar shudders, fadding.

Now, to see if the Hound had told the Monkey the truth...


Suddenly the paper towel dispenser and the pink lighter Jason had dropped to the floor seemed irrationally interesting.

[Sonnie Wu]

The bloody thorn, now free of the boy's hand, was quickly wrapped in a paper towel. As was the hand, to staunch bleeding. Sonnie smiled approvingly at him while she cleaned off her knife and made if vanish back up her sleeve, "Great job, Jason! You were a total pro! Now, keep that clean and it'll heal up really nice. Also, chicks dig scars. Just ask my friend waiting outside the door!" She winked conspiratorially at him.

Now for the thorn itself. The sharp little bit was placed in the bathroom sink, the drain closed. Scooping up the lighter, she ignited the paper wrapping and stood over it, watching to make sure it burned completely, all while dispersing any smoke with her hand. Wouldn't do to set off smoke detectors.

If the thorn appeared to be incinerated, the Beast would turn on the facet to douse the remains and open the drain to wash them away.

[Titania]

Restless she was. Why was it taking so long? Still, pride wins over charity and curiosity, she doesn't give in. She turns around, taking another look at the family, "Didn't you mention a sibling?", she asks the girl. That should verify the theory.

[Saber Sloth]

Jason holds his hands together the paper towel, easily dying red with blood. He sniffles and rubs his tear and snot full face on his shoulder but keeps his stare on the large Thorn that had come from his hand.

Sonnie wraps it, places it, and ignites the paper.

First, it is as normal. The paper burns the flame as ruddy as any come from a convenient store lighter. Then there is a shrieking, snivelling cry. The flame bleeds purple, and the plume of smoke sickening green, and despite Sonnie's efforts, the smoke coils and clings. Until, suddenly, it drops to the sink. Coating the porcilean with the same ill green. Leaving the only white space, the shape of a shriveled, twisted thing.


Outside of the bathroom, both parents blink, one stays with their crying daughter, while the other stands. "Jason!"


Underneath the makeshift paper towel bandage, the bitemark scar has faded, lifting completely from the skin.
