Showing Phoenyx the new Place

[Kaze]

“And here we are! Sawasdee!” Kaze says triumphantly! The Thai restaurant front entrance is visible as he pulls into a small strip mall parking lot.

”Oh of course! I was a kid! I wanted to be a superhero and a spy and a ninja and a scientist and a doctor and an astronaut!” He chuckles.

He looks over at Phoenyx and kisses her again after they’re parked. “Now I get to try things and figure out what was a fantasy and what things really are what I want to be.”

Kaze grins “So far it’s working out perfect! I already figured out that I want to be your boyfriend and that feels great!”

[Phoenyx]

The restaurant looks good. Phoenyx watches it eagerly, but frowns at Kaze's words. "I didn't want those things. My parents wanted some of them. They were determined I be educated enough to enter college, but I awakened while I was still a teenager. My master helped me continue my studies." She lowers her voice, like she's revealing a secret. "I wanted to be an archaeologist. Or study mythology. The latter does come in handy sometimes." She smiles shyly.

The kiss is met enthusiastically. A little too enthusiastically, perhaps. "Not a fantasy. And it does feel good." Pheonyx smiles widely at him.

Although that gives me an idea...

[Kaze]

Kaze listens to Phoenyx as she reveals just a little about her family wishes and her own as a teenager. He smiles and nods slightly as she confesses her interest in archaeology.

He finds himself responding to her own passionate response to kissing, and loses himself in it for a moment, getting dizzy and light headed and feeling his heartbeat accelerate!

When they come up for air, he grins and says, "Mmm. Kind of a fantasy, though. A fantasy come true."

He takes a deep breath and says, "I called ahead. They have a table for us, in the back. I'm hungry! C'mon, let's get some food and talk inside." he opens his door and makes his way to the passenger side to get her door for her.

On the way in, Kaze says, "Do you think you'd still enjoy taking classes? In archaeology I mean? I lost a little interest when I learned about Atlantis and how much of what the Sleepers teach and learn is the Lie."

[Phoenyx]

"You were the one who wanted to take things slowly. Are you still sure about that?" Phoenyx asks, staying very close to Kaze's face, but suppressing a smile.

She sighs a little frustration as he gets out of the truck, but his gentlemanly ways still draw a broad smile and a slightly embarrassed blush. "I can get out myself..." Phoenyx says without venom, almost shy. In fact, she looks flattered.

She shakes her head. "No, other things have taken over that desire. I still find myths and legends fascinating for the lessons they can teach. But some of my training has replaced my desire to learn about history. I still find it interesting to watch history shows, but I have higher goals in mind now." She gives him a meaningful look. Magic was a much higher goal.

Kaze offers his arm to Phoenyx if she wants to take it as they enter the restaurant, "Order whatever you want to try, it's all good here, and I've got the bill." he says lightly.

"So what history is your favorite? I grew up on Greek mythology and the Bible, so I would like to see Greece and Israel someday." Kaze offers. "I picked up some Japanese and Chinese history when I was over there, but I didn't really get into it."

[Phoenyx]

She takes the arm slowly, her face full of a broad but nervous smile. "Okay," she says softly.

"I love heroic epics, and the legendary creatures. Chinese legends are full of them, as are the Greek and Egyptian mythologies. The recent interest in Norse culture has been fascinating in helping uncover new sources as it becomes more mainstream thanks to the Avengers. There are parallels that are fascinating hinting at a common history, given these civilisations forms so far apart." She slips demurely into her chair. "For example, the divine being that gives writing to mankind appears across many cultures." Phoenyx begins looking at the menu.

"Wow, that is really interesting; I didn't know that the giver of writing was a common myth in different, ancient cultures!" Kaze remarks. "And did you just say that you've seen the Marvel Movies? At least 'The Avengers'? I guess Thor made an impression, huh?" he suggests innocently.

"So, have you seen 'Guardians of the Galaxy'? It's not based on any actual myths that I know of, but it's pretty much my favorite." he says, watching Phoenyx in open admiration and smiling as she looks at the menu. His own menu is still lying closed in front of him unnoticed.

“It suggests a more common history. Perhaps the pervasiveness of what western philosophers refer to as the Tower of Babel.” At the Marvel reference, Phoenyx’s eyes narrow slightly, but there is that little hint of a smirk. “The commercialism is everywhere, Kaze. I’m a traditionalist, not blind.” She gives a resigned sigh. “If you must know, I saw Thor when it was in the movies. A boy took me to see it. He tried to touch me inappropriately and I broke his nose, so I never saw the ending.” She smiles at the memory. “But the fact is that with the rise of the movies there has been a similar rise in the interest of the Norse mythos and what the movies lift directly and what is adapted.”

She nods her head. “With one of my cousins. I actually liked that one! I like Drax and Gamorra. They are easy to relate to in different ways.” One was very literal and the other was inexplicably attracted to a carefree goof with very little in common. The Arrow catches Kaze watching her lovingly. “….What?” she asks suspiciously, a hint of pink creeping back into her cheeks.

Kaze listens with evident interest to Phoenyx explaining about universal myths in history and about seeing the Marvel movies, and then purses his lips a little in concern at her description of receiving unwanted attentions in the movie theater. "Oh wow, I am sorry that happened to you, even if you did break his nose." Kaze says, shaking his head.

He smiles as she says that she liked the movie that he said is his favorite. "I like Gamorra. She reminds me a little of you. I guess I really related to the character, 'Starlord'; his dad left, and his mother died of cancer. I mean, I wasn't raised by space pirates or anything, but I could relate." he says, smiling still. "He's just out there, doing the best he can, never giving up even if he feels like he's just making it up as he goes."

Kaze looks into Phoenyx's eyes when she notices him watching her, and says, "I'm just checking you out. I am so lucky. I love you, Phoenyx." He grins.

The Arrow continues to smile. “Why? I got to break his nose. I’ll bet he never tried that again.”

An eyebrow twitches as Kaze comapares her to Gamorra. To someone familiar with the subtleties of Phoenyx’s expressions like Kaze, she’s clearly amused. “That does sound a bit like you.”

Phoenyx breaks into one of her rare full smiles, posing slightly. Kaze always did know how to rub her ego in just the right way. Perhaps it was his clear sincerity, which made him so much easier to understand than other people. She sighs a little. “I know, but I wish you wouldn’t keep saying it. You’re pressuring me.” She stops and frowns, and squirms uncomfortably. “I mean ….it feels like you are pressuring me. You know I… feel…. the same. You do realise that? But… I haven’t before. Felt like this. With anyone. Before. And it makes me feel… exposed, which… is not… a nice feeling. Do you understand?” she pleads. It didn’t help that getting Phoenyx to admit she couldn’t handle something was nearly impossible. Admitting something was downright scary? Not a chance.
