The tree transmits some other sensations, which Karen experiences as vibrations but can't otherwise interpret.
Karen nods slowly, a little miffed at herself for not being able to puzzle this out. Been a bit too long since I talked with the flora, I suppose...gotten rusty. "Thank you for your help. May the sun shine on every leaf, and may your roots never wither."

The tree gives off an impression of warmth and sunshine, which Karen knows tends to be the plant version of "best wishes". Thankfully, the impression isn't quite so strong as to provoke fear frenzy.
As that impression fades, Karen hears someone coming down the trail toward this part of the park. She hears faint footfalls and the sounds of someone talking, and can see light through the foliage.
Well hell... Karen looks towards the noise. She looks about for a place she can duck into to stay out of sight, once again cursing herself for not pursuing Protean.

Karen moves into the brush as three figures emerge from the trail.
All three are young... late teens, maybe 20. Two are female, one male. The boy and one of the young women carry flashlights, while the other girl carries a duffel bag.
The girl with the flashlight has long, blonde hair, pulled back in a ponytail. She wears black jeans, Ug boots and a light down jacket, pink. She's quite pretty. The other young woman is more striking than pretty. She wears a black leather jacket, boots and miniskirt with black tights. She also wears glasses with black rims, has shoulder-length hair dyed red and sports several facial tattoos.
The boy is very thin. He wears a lime green sweater, matching knit cap and black jeans and sneakers.
"You know, it is cold out here, Cass," the girl with the glasses says. "All that moon stuff aside, it really is okay to worship nature when the sun is out."
"I know," the other girl says. "Too cold to go skyclad, darn it. But the park employees get pissed when I try to clean the place up during open hours. They don't have a clue what 'natural' really means."
"I'm with Cynthia," the boy says in a nasal voice. "Why not find another place to do our Wicca duties, one we can do them at during the day?"
"Because this place is the best nature spot in the city limits, the closest thing to natural... not that that's saying much," The blonde girl closes her eyes, her arms spread wide to her sides. "There's something about it... I can feel it. Hopefully it'll get stronger as we remove the invading plants that are strangling the natural spirit of the place."
...not quite what I was expecting. Karen gets a good look at the trio, smirking slightly. Maybe there's more to this place than I thought...possible Nest, maybe?
She hangs back for the moment, waiting to see what they do before she makes her move.

The girl with the glasses sets down her bag and opens it. The blonde takes out a trowel and a garbage bag and starts going around, looking at underbrush, picking up any trash she finds and, when she locates a plant she doesn't want there, digging it up and placing it in the trash bag as well. The whole time, she sings. Sometimes she sings in English - new-agey stuff, about the sky and the moon and mother nature. Other times she sings in Gaelic, or Latin, and sometimes in a language Karen thinks might be some sort of Native American dialect. Karen recognizes some of the melodies from the impressions given her by the tree.
The girl has a very nice singing voice. For a moment Karen is so entranced by the voice that she doesn't realize the girl is getting close, and heading in her direction until she's only a few feet away.
