A Quiet Morning

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx arches an eyebrow. "Sloshes around? This may not work. We are going to have a literal shark-creature in this. It needs to be stable. Unless you can stop Galatea from doing that?" Is she teasing? Her expression is still deadpan.

She thinks. "I thought it was supposed to be permanent? Hmm."

The Arrow nods. They start putting pieces together.

"How are your Life Studies going? Do you think you might advance in rank soon?" She asks.

[Kaze]

Kaze chuckles, "I don't believe there's a power in the 'verse that can stop Galatea from sloshing around in the pool as a shark creature". he says in a tone like he's quoting something.

He nods, "Yeah. We need to get serious about this. Drill out some deep supports and make it rock solid. Dig out some serious drainage. It's totally doable, just means we won't move it. And it might come in handy anyway to have a room that you can clean by just hosing it down...." Kaze looks like he is deliberately changing his line of thought after that and works in silence for a while, unsmiling.

He looks relieved at Phoenyx's question about his studies. "Oh! I advanced. I am still learning the rotes though, to really be effective with it." he says. "I needed to bone up on Occult for that, so it's going slow for now." he explains.

"How about you, Phoenyx? What are you focusing on now?"

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx watches nonchalantly. "Then we had better make sure it's secure."

It seemed Kaze was thinking for the more sinister side of the Arrows work. Still, it was good he was thinking of that. "Having an easy-clean area may be very useful," she agrees.

There's a small sigh. "Arcana, mostly. I did a lot of phystical training in the spring. Now I'm focusing on Force, and then Prime. Direct magics to deal with the threats surrounding us." She pauses, and starts slotting pieces together. "If you need occult knowledge, Alastor seems to be knowledgeable."

[Kaze]

"Oh wow, Force and then Prime!" Kaze says, in between using the power tools to drill and cut away the floor to dig out solid supports and drainage for a permanent installation of their new above ground pool!

"Yeah, Prime is going to be important, with people going around detecting the arcane. I am committed to working on medicine and Life. I should work on my Prime too. I am really interested in Space though." Kaze confides. "That is definitely something I am inspired by Alastor's example."

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx grimaces. "Urgh. Space. Stupid scrying. Would have been fine if it wasn't for Alastors magic space eyes." She shakes her head.

Oh well. It was all out now.

She looks at him and smiles. "Well, if I can get my Prime enough to make shields, I can cover you up too. But ever since I found that Forces could manipulate Fire, I always wanted to do that." She grins - an actual eager grin - excited. "I like fire. It's kinda in the name." The Firebird starts putting more slots in together.

"Why Space? Is it the connection things?"

[Kaze]

Kaze grins, "Space is a subtle and adaptable Arcana to be sure." he says. "I have to admit, sure there are a lot of good, practical reasons to learn Space, but...I happen to think Portals are the coolest thing I've ever seen."

"How about you; how do you picture the flames? Using them, I mean."

Kaze begins using a jack hammer to break up the concrete, so he can begin laying the drainage piping.

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx rolls her eyes. Subtle, she is not.

Portals, however, were impressive, the one time she saw Alastor pull them together. "Sure. Portals are cool. But I think the time I saw Aurora turn into a bird was amazing."

The little Arrow can't help it. A grin, an actual grin, spreads on her face. "It is going to be-" She's cut off by the sounds of the Jackhammer, and scowls at Kaze, stalking over and slaps him on the arm so he stops hammering.

"I was going to say it's going to be amazing," she says with a wry smile. "And I'll use it for... fire.. stuff. It'll look awesome. Shut up." The Firebird scowls, and goes and gets the piping.

[Kaze]

Kaze nods, then smiles and says, "Yeah. What Aurora did...I really want to get there someday. I hope she comes back. It's kind of hard, the way people come and go in this city. I mostly really like the way things are different here then where I trained, but not that part so much."

Kaze grins, "Yeah, I can totally see it, Phoenyx, you will be amazing with fire!" he says sincerely.

Then he pauses and says, "Oh just a second."

He chants for a minute and then casts, Influence Sound.

"There." He says, while he jackhammers some more, Phoenyx can clearly hear his words like he's speaking softly in her ear!

Phoenyx frowns a little. "I know. I did not want her to go. She... gave me some good advice a while ago."

She smiles. "Much better. Um... Thank you. I will be amazing. But it might be useful to look at diversifying our magical talents. Between the Arrows we do not have a range of Paths. Maybe we should all consider focusing a little into one or two extra Arcana. You're already looking at Life. I might focus on our primary path a little, for Prime."

The Arrow fixes some more parts together., then pauses and sets the tools down, turning to the taller Arrow.

"We seem to be falling very quiet," she says. "I hope the Concillium holds together."

[Kaze]

Kaze nods solemnly. "I consider Life and Healing to be my main Way now." he says. "I will learn more occult skill, and Prime and Space, sure. There's even some Force stuff that I want to do that is going to make me have to learn some Death, I think. But my priority is going to be working towards mastering Life and learning non-magical healing too, medicine."

Kaze grins at Phoenyx. "Hey now." he says in a soft, gentle tone that almost tickles her ear, it seems so magically near to Phoenyx and intimate. "I'm not going anywhere! We are the Consillium, if it comes to that. And up to now, even though people left a lot, new people came in and contributed. Look at Shodan! I think I'm going to make a point of spending more time at the Circle, just to greet the new people when they show up."

Kaze pretends to shiver. "We don't want Winter to be the only welcoming committee! He can be a little...'cold'." Kaze says with another grin and a chuckle!
