"Sorry, your Grace, Herald. I don't mean to take up the whole meeting with this one subject. But perhaps it is a good learning situation for me. First, in the Laws of Elysium, I was interpreting the raising of voice to be raising voice in anger. I realize yelling across a room is kinda like yelling up stairs for people to come down for dinner, impolite but no real harm done. If I have been misinterpreting this then I also would like to know what lever of voice is acceptable. Please know I am asking in all sincerity. I just want proper boundaries and guidelines as to what you wish to hear or not hear."

"I also ask, if an officer of the court is continuing to push on a subject that you have not asked them to push on. Which by the way I don't believe you would ask of such in court. I believe you would ask them to schedule a private meeting.

Anyway, if the court official was told by the individual that they did not wish to continue the discussion, several times... would that be considered an offense of disrespect? I mean they knew they were winding up the individual in court. That is what I found as a disrespect issue. However, I felt as each were cooling down and had separated of own accord, they should have been fine."

"And yes, name calling is childish but was not course language."

"I will abide by the guidelines you set, Your Grace. Like I stated. I would love to be able to use this issue as a learning opportunity to better serve your interpretations of the laws. I gave you my interpretation of the laws. I meant no disrespect to anyone involved or in court. My question is your interpretation of that specific law. Thank you." Mable have a little respectful nod of her head.

Jacque smirked at the response from Mable, his disdain growing for the officer who clearly had no grip of what actually occurred that night, “I’m quite certain these perversions of reality could continue for much of our danse. I’d suggest an alternative to allowing this back and forth ‘he said she said’ to continue. Simply contact someone you trust at your leisure to confirm what occurred.”

“To answer your question from that night, Keeper Wood,” his eyes shifting to rest on her, “The reason the conversation could not occur another time is thatMister Madcap would not allow it. He indicated he wanted the conversation to occur right then, that night if it were to occur at all.”

“As I stated that evening to you, I would not allow a precedent to be set by indulging an offense to suggesting a matter be handled equitably. Not wanting to dismiss it without understanding, I at least asked for him to explain his perspective. He would not provide any insight, and avoided my questions at all costs. I had no qualm with wanting to solidify a working relationship with the short fuse, so I attempted to separate the issues. A friendly gesture of beer for whatever hurt feelings he had in my original proposal with the Sheriff, and a continued discussion about repairing the partnership.”

He pauses briefly, “He took great offense to this offer, and anyone within earshot could hear he was upset as he was no longer quiet or civil. To which his first sign that he wished the conversation to end was laid out, stating we were done.”

“Not intending for the gesture to have been an insult, I restated my intention plainly while beginning to leave the booth. I only paused leaving the booth to throw out one last line to keep the conversation open, stating that he could continue to help me understand his perspective or we could pause the conversation until another night. His choice.”

“His response was to call me an honorless weasel out to Elysium followed by quote, ‘The Herald prods the Beast. I have signaled my growing ire, but he persists. How to Elysium answer?’” He shook his head, “I took that answer as another night and resumed my departure. This is the ‘several’ times your Keeper is trying to portray to you tonight.”

“What disturbs me most of all, is that I slipped a note to the Keeper while it was my turn for her to check in on me to see if I needed a juice box or a binky. The note in which stated that she should consider the precedent she’s about to set by allowing Kindred of her Court to act against the Laws and call Her Majesty’s officers such names.” Chuckling, “She then asked me if I was filing an official complaint and to elaborate on what names I was called. One of which was said right to her face.”

“Clarifying my desire for precedent to be set in accordance to your laws, I discretely offered Keeper Wood a minor boon for my participation in the conversation that led to escalation. Whether the gesture was intended to be friendly or not, it provoked the situation so I thought I would nip it in the bud and simultaneously give the Keeper the counterweight needed to remain neutral while enforcing the decorum. She announces this gesture to the court as nothing less than a bribe, an insult that echoed through your Elysium.”

"I then departed as if the Laws of the Elysium were not being upheld by the Keeper, and the Prince's voice was not being heard or listened to then there was no point in my remaining. It would only further the notion that the Prince's words had no weight in her Elysium.", cold eyes turned to Mable. “If the Keeper wants to insist on her reality, she can but that means one of us is incorrect. If it is discovered to be me, I will resign as your Herald. I clearly cannot function in the duty if my words are not heard as they are meant, and if I cannot view reality as it truly is.” Jacque sits back in his chair, frazzled but calm.

At this point in the conversation, Ale is not mad at Mable

Shaking her head, “It’s fine. It’s obviously something where there is some confusion and it should be handled here and now.” Get it all out in the open. “There is no reason to yell across the room unless there is a risk of violence. If you are unable to catch someones eye, then excusing yourself and walking over is more appropriate than yelling across the room. As to the what level of voice? Why, the ones we are using now. Simple, friendly tone. What is it parents used to call it? Indoor voices?” she asks with a chuckle. “Elysium is a place for us to gather and be social. If there is a dispute and misunderstanding between people, then they can either take it outside, or in one of the meeting rooms. But hashing out grievances for the simple fact of putting on a show is not going to happen. I know the ones who are doing just that to stir Court up.” She was done with it. “And for what I wish to hear and not hear? What are you referring to? I assure you I can hear all conversations in Court without others acting like toddlers who didn’t get a nap.” What did she mean?

“I’ve yet to come across this myself, but I would encourage anyone to disengage if there is a risk of tempers flaring. If it is a pressing matter, then they should seek out someone, you, Herald Jack, or even the Harpy to follow to a meeting room to hash it out. Or if that’s not agreeable, then there needs to be a meeting after Court to work it out. I’ve yet to witness a Court officer winding someone up. I have seen it from others, and it needs to stop. To give a more detailed answer, I would need more facts.”

Shaking her head once again, “Resorting to such a childish behavior is not acceptable, nor is calling a member of my Court names. When I am not in Court, Herald Jack essentially speaks for me. So I take it as a personal insult. Now, I would also take it personally to have any member of my Court called names and spoken to with disrespect. I fully expect the one resorting to such childish and foolish behavior to be escorted out of Court. It’s not acceptable behavior."

Then Jack dove into more of the evening. And seemed that by missing one fucking Court, the children thought they could play.

Her head rests on her hand, a finger tapping against her temple. But there was a smirk, “Well Herald Jack, seems you and I should sit down and discuss how bribes work, they’re a specialty of mine.” She jokes.

“I will say I am appalled by the behavior I am hearing about.” Looking to Mable, “Someone calls my Herald names and you do nothing? That is if I am believing that I am hearing. Though I'm not surprised who did the name calling. What do you have to say?” she’d give Mable the chance. “And if I don’t like your answer, I will be calling someone in to get the truth.”
