The background is a subtle static as the dark, distinctive voice scoffs through, "Cute, but No. Why did you kill that woman Detective Moretti?"
As for Derek, he looks at the cameras and they are indeed wifi enabled security cameras. Their storage is probably offsite, this could be problematic to say the least.
As for Mable. her eyes remain strong, but she does not see anything outside other then normal pedestrians.
"Who? You're fucking crazy. Why would you kill her? I'm calling the cops."
She sold it, and sold it well - confusion about who this 'Detective Moretti' was, confusion about the allegation. Dark room, she was still in her stellar disguise from earlier -- and though she appeared now due to her act of will, in about twenty minutes, she'd be a blur in their dark camera footage. This proved nothing. It was time to turn Mable loose on the cops and aim this at someone else. There was nothing more here that would be good for them. Wiping off the key card and turning her back to block her action, she planted the card on the dead woman so it wasn't in her possession. A quick wipe, not even necessary, for the phone -- she wasn't an expert on if Blushed kindred left prints, but she'd leave nothing behind.
Time to go. The Sheriff hung up the phone and leaned in close to Mitnick, typing something on her phone's notepad and showing it to him under the shading of her hands.

Deleting the letters, Lina headed for the door. It was time to get gone. Out of the camera angle from the hallway, she used a makeup wipe to clear the door handles she had touched, and got to it.

As Derek puts his sweeper and begins to pull out his laptop, he stops to see what Lina is showing him on her phone. He looks up to Lina and nods seriously his understanding.
Stuffing the camera under the bed pillow, Derek then secures an exit strategy. The window he searched for earlier, if he was able to find it and open it. That would be his exit if police came. For the next few moments he would try to remain out of sight of the remaining cameras while he worked.
His quiet solid state hard drive of his laptop boots up immediately and he begins pulling up packet sniffer, decryption and analyzing programs. He would attempt to intercept the signal being sent to the cameras and try to read the packets to identify any passwords or authentication tokens that might give him enough access for the purpose of finding physical IP address of the storage device, or any other discernible information on their voyeur.

Mable was swooping around looking and missed Lina's conversation on the phone.

The voice on the phone just laughs, "Very well then Detective. Let's try something else..."
The voice can be heard, a little faintly, but he's not hiding. "Now."
All of the lights spring on to their full strength. Almost too strong, like flood lights. The eyes of the kindred feel the burn of a light so bright. There is not a single shadow to be found now. The doors and windows all audibly click. The window that Mable went out and Derek made sure was open, closes and clicks.
Mable sees flashing lights off in the distance...
Squinting against the sudden light, the Sheriff knew that this was a trap. Her strength, even with the blessings of Vigor, wasn't plainly supernatural, her power not yet at that level. Thank God, too, with all the cameras. She looked athletic as hell, which wouldn't matter once the blurring came back in a bit, but for whoever was watching her? If they were human, it was explainable. That was what mattered.
Gritting her teeth and flooding her system with a push of stamina, Moretti set up for a beast of a punt, charging forward with a grunt of effort as she went to kick her way out of this trap through an exterior door...

Derek panics, clutching his laptop to his chest and backing against the wall, moaning a shrill note in his throat. His eyes dart to the window then to the lights which his eyes squint against. Were they trying some sort of ultraviolet attack to imitate sunlight? Did they have some idea of their natures? Hunters perhaps? They were fully prepared and fully equipped to trap them.
Unable to continue his hack attempt, Derek moves to the closed window, inspecting to gain some insight on the mechanism used to close it and what lock held it in place.

Mable saw lights heading their way. "Squeak." Good thing no one around could understand bat.
Mable flew to the window. Then she saw it.... the lights, the closed window, Derek! Unaware that the window was locked, she landed on the window hoping he would see her and open the window.
The door was not wood, the Detective clearly realizes it as her foot connects with a clang. A reinforced metal door. It did not come open as she had hoped, but the door certainly shook, she did some damage. However, the situation may have just went from bad... to worse.
Mable is stuck outside in bat form, unable to get try to open the window due to tiny bat fingers, the flashing lights of police cars are seen off in the distance and #Cutebat, maybe about to watch something horrendous happen, and she doesn't even know it.
Derek's anxiety begins to well up in him as a sense of dread comes over him. To a mekhet, even heat can be fear inducing...
