Attempting to stay out of sight of the cameras, and believing he had, the Shadow follows. Once inside, Derek jerks his head as the scent reaches him, invading his senses. He hasn't mentally prepared for this. The pull of the Beast against his better judgement is nearly thrown off its perch. His hand comes up to his face, covering his nose and mouth in an attempt to prevent more of the alluring aroma from tempting his base instincts.
As Lina begins to search, Derek pops into existence beside her, his Cloak pierced.
The lights are out in the Apartment but wow is it a luxury. Even with a lack of light, it reeks of money. the hardwood floors and clean the walls are a beautiful stark white. There is a hallway that leads to the left or right. it's easy to see that one way leads to the kitchen/living space and the other way is to the bedrooms and private areas. The smell that has invaded the kindred is coming from the private areas...

Mable sat tight in the purse. She would not break protocol until told to because she may still be needed for a surprise attack.

She'd never been more happy for a disguise in her life, but Moretti knew that her time was limited here. The place needed to be cleared, and fast. If this was a set-up, every second counted. Stirring the Blood, the Sheriff sped around the apartment, checking it for any immediate issues or traps.
-1V for Celerity. She speeds through the apartment and checks it for immediate threats quickly, using Trained Observer and Heightened Senses to offset penalties per the ST.
Lina will have immediate instructions and actions in the seconds that follow.

Seeing the unnatural speed of Lina blurring about the apartment confirms to Derek that whatever plans they had to infiltrate Alten's systems is out the window.
Dropping the Cloak, Derek hisses out in a loud whisper after her, muffled beneath the press of his hand, "What's going on? Is that coming from the bedroom?" He moves to follow, trying to get a sense of the situation they're now facing, and trying not to imagine the concealed bat-woman being whipped around at those speeds.

Mable feels the speed that Lina is moving and just hunkers down tighter.
It is indeed coming from the bedroom as Lina has found. A body in the bed, covered by a white blanket, the blanket is acting like a towel sopping up the blood. Without pulling back the blanket, who the body is cannot be identified...
Jesus. She could smell it all, so potent, so gory. The Sheriff took a make-up wipe out of her bag and used it as a pincher so she could move the blanket without touching it herself, and moved the top of the blanket aside carefully...
...but she was pretty sure she knew what she was gonna see here. A waste of talent. A woman who could have been a fine Daeva or Ventrue. She didn't have to die like this.
"Yes. Investigate this place, and fast. We need to get gone. Bat, I'm gonna need you to keep eyes on outside and let us know if we've got company coming. Crack a window for her, please."

Mable slipped out of the purse. Once a window was opened she would fly out and keep watch.
