After dropping Mister Deputy Konstantin off at his desired location with Daryl, Ith Lazarus was left with a difficult choice to make. The creatures from the void, those worm things, had infested his home and existed in a state of twilight there -- just a small step from the material realm. If the Warden were to return to Amber Hill it was likely that he could be ambushed without backup.
Fear. The emotion governed Ith's life in almost every aspect. Usually the one inflicting it, now he was the one feeling it. These worms had made him feel it before; he had experienced the wrathful touch of his former ghoul, Robert Bridgewater, and recoiled from the visions of Koral in the nightmare induced vision. He had to live with the memory of those fears every night, and now he had to live with the threat of his home not being a safe-haven any longer.
I will not live in fear of parasites. If they are in Amber Hill, then they will be elsewhere. Perhaps what I believe the source of the Lost Nights will have them hidden around their complex as well.
"Harold, drive me to the location of Horizon Pharmatech."
It was frightening to give that particular order. Lazarus was more than aware of the disappearance of Priscus O-Yama. Even more unsettling was the concept that the Priscus may not even have been captured, but instead killed, or worse tortured and then killed. There were things in this world worse than Final Death.
"You will drive around the company's building at the given speed limit. You will only circle once, then return to Amber Hill. When returning you will take a longer route than normal, and I will ensure we are not being followed. Keep your eyes on the road, and do not stop for anyone or anything."
He needed to hide from this horror while observing it. The blood of the Nosferatu offered him this gift, and his fear of meeting the same fate as Priscus O-Yama channeled it. He needed to vanish from sight, if something from that dread corporation were to see the Doctor's visage there would be no doubt as to his nature -- mask of tranquility or not.
Cloak of Night
In the backseat of his car, Dr. Ith Lazarus vanished from sight. Still sitting there, the Warden gazed out of the window of the car as the building of Horizon Pharamatech approached and activated his heightened sense of sight to attempt to see anything out of the ordinary.
