Atticus's best cover is, in fact, the natural angle of the hill from where he is, the flatness at the top of the hill cutting off half a body's worth of height for a shot. He ducks low, and Madcap can follow. A thwap can be heard from afar, and dust and rock flew from behind them as the shot missed.

They were out of line of sight down here, but on foot, it was a dangerous fifty yard run up the driveway to the house proper -- and in those yards, they'd be wide open for fire. What creativity would the Axe aspirants come up with?

Atticus James was a practical man from a practical background. Practical eyes caught an opportunity.

A path through the vines that would give them a chance, at the least, of sneaking up to the house to the point where the sniper would only have time to fire one shot in total if things worked, rather than as many shots as he could put in the air as they covered the yardage.

If he saw them? Well, they'd be covering the exact same distance and he'd be shooting at them probably, but there'd be a little bit of cover from the angles, so... they were a little further ahead in any event. In either case, it was a better chance.

Dex + Stealth will be needed to use this opportunity. One Blood can be spent for a +2.

Atticus nods his head as he sees a way to make it to the house. Atticus points out the path to Madcap. He then points to himself, holds up one finger and then points to the path, indicating that he will go first. With a nod of his head, Atticus ducks low and makes his way through the vine covered path.

Atticus' signals were clear enough. Madcap would let the Scribe move ahead, falling in behind him after a time.

They were going in silent. Madcap hadn't had to do that shit since the '40's. The Bruja weren't exactly known for discretion.

Nonetheless, Madcap forged head, carefully planting his feet with each step as he slinked through the vine path behind his partner.

Could I please trouble you fine gentlemen for your Initiative? Even at -3, Mr. Little has been fortunate. Thankfully, he'll be at a -2 for his gunshots due to the geography. Please advise if you're wearing any sort of bulletproof vest.

1+Dex+Comp = 6 Init for Cappy. Madcap is wearing a leather jacket (if I recall that has no effect on bullets), but no bulletproof vest.
