    Sonnie shook her head and crept to the edge of the balcony, peering down, watchful for signs of movement. That the knock at the door came and went without a response was curious. It must have been Circe and maybe Abraham. What was the occupant(s) doing? Were they even still here? Did they go to the roof?

    "Shit," she spat out as she raised her staff defensively. Primal feelings, connected to forgotten experiences in a jungle of screams and blood, came swelling up inside of her. The fear, the instinct to run from predatory eyes like those. Her heart started pounding. Her feet started edging back towards the open rear door. A drop of sweat started trickling down her spine. She needed to flee. She needed to hide. She needed to call for-- call for help!

    "Help! Help in here!"     she yelled towards the front door.Sonnie did not sound calm or amused.

The helix of her ears elongate out 2" inches ending in a tip. Her features sharpen and her figure has an unnatural, inhuman litheness that can be intellectually disturbing.

    Well, so much for being all polite and civilized.

    Abraham watches as Circe tries and fails to break in the door, the Flowering so lost in the moment he doesn't even question why didn't the elf just shoot out the lock with her gun. No, instead the knight-errant makes a kick of his own, and the metal and wood howl in protest.

He runs towards the source of Sonnie's voice, trying to spot any immediate danger before it spots him.

    The leopard's ears pin, a low, rumbling snarl emerged as it flashed its teeth at Sonnie Wu. The tail swept back and forth nervously, taking a step back towards the shadowy grass and flinching as the door crashed open.

    Abraham barely has time to register the interior of the cabin, jarringly different from the outdoor view and vaulting over a couch and coffee table arranged around a fire place built into the chimney. He can see Sonnie poised and crouched on the overhanging balcony, a set of stairs bending around the chimney central to the cabin.

    Sonnie Wu , the leopard has not engaged so far, if you have Animal Ken, feel free to roll.


    Meanwhile, outside, Samuel tilts his head at Titania's comment. "I am not sure if you heard, that will not be for three days at least. Are your friends playing a prank on you?"

    Knowing that the others had entered the cabin gave Sonnie some courage in the face of this trigger for her more traumatic forgotten memories. Focus, dammit!

    She held up a hand towards the creature, trying to show she intended no harm. "E-easy. Niiiiice kitty. I don't want to hurt you. You don't, um, don't want to hurt me, right? We can be friends, yeah?" Her voice was strained, but earnest. "I'm Sonnie, and you would be?" Could the cat even talk? Maybe, this was the Hedge after all.

    The knight-errant goes further upwards, until he is right beside Sonnie facing... Sabor from Tarzan? Really? The similarities are just too perferct for the Spring storyteller to not notice them. Far from the frightened voice moments earlier, Sonnie appeared to hold her resolve, which is the only reason the 'damsel in distress' program failed to kick in.

    The Steepscramber making friends allows Abraham some time to give the giant cat a once-over. While it may be true that no two Hedge creatures are exactly the same, patterns are a thing even here, and maybe, just maybe he's seen something similar in the past.

    The tip of the sword is pointed at the floor.
