The Sacramento Zoo was a popular attraction, providing a nice place to meet with friends... And a potential wellspring of creative ideas for a Mage.
Galatea, always looking for more animals to emulate, was excited to see an advertisement for a new attractions at the Sacramento Zoo- oh sure, documentaries and biology textbooks were all well and good- but nothing beat personal experience, in Galatea's book.
She'd considered going alone but, thinking it might be a good chance to socialize, decided to invite a few people. The few she actually knew, at least. Kaze , Phoenyx , Alastor , and Abacus were the first ones she'd managed to send messages to- but an open post ensured anyone could meet her there if they really wanted.
Once all that was settled, the Thyrsus donned a heavy set of sunglasses, a rather simple outfit consisting of simple jeans and a green top, and made her way to the zoo.

'By all accounts she is Alastor's second in command.' The rumor of the words of the Hierarch echo in Phoenyx's mind as she reads the message from the newest Arrow. She's unconventional, for sure - fighting in a shark-form doesn't scream public practicality - but having another Arrow around would be useful as long as there were folks like Cosmo failing to take security seriously.
Plus, punching someone was easy. Talking to them, making small talk was way harder. Socialising really was War.
And so, Phoenyx was waiting, perched on a wall wearing a loose red top, cosmic leggings and her long leather trenchcoat. Spotting Galatia, she vaults down and strides over, offering a small smile. "Hey! Um. Thanks for inviting me?" It does sound a bit like a question. "So. A zoo. Are you looking for ideas? I figure you have a relevant interest." She cocks her head. "It's Alice, by the way." The Arrow adds quietly.
Cloaked Monthly Rits (in minisheet)Galatea gave a grin (less unnerving without the shark teeth) as she saw the fire bird. A person Galatea felt she could enjoy spending time with... If only because they both seemed to care deeply about the physical form.
"Salutations! And yeah, I figured why not? It might be a good chance to talk.... Er... To people."
The hidden meaning in that was quite clear. Besides, the methods the Orphan had to utilize to speak with animals brought a lot of attention. There wouldn't be much chance to speak to them here- not that Galatea wasn't looking forward to squeezing in a few talks.
Alice? Her name was Alice?... Hm. If she wished to be called such, Galatea would respect it. Though the fire bird still sounded more impressive in her mind.
"Irene. It's a pleasure to meet you, Alice. I'm hoping to find some artistic inspiration here- books and documentaries just don't provide the right... Stuff. Especially for some animals. Should we wait a bit longer before heading inside?"
It was perhaps a bit weird to enjoy a zoo, considering the nature of such things. But it was a moral quandary Galatea had resolved a while ago.
For what it's worth, the fact that he's bumped into the two Arrow mages is totally an accident. It's just that with all the craziness and tension going on (and him being in the workshop or in a library all day didn't help matters), the Libertine needed some air and sun. So the Sacramento ZOO didn't look like a half-bad choice.
"Hey Alice!" Shodan waves to Phoenyx, using the name she provided him with way back when, at the Trail "Hey G!" He didn't know what Galatea's Sleeper name was, so going with the first letter of her shadow name seemed innocuous enough. The Prime Mover himself made zero effort regarding clothing - a gray t-shirt and jeans with sneakers were the order of the day. The only non-ordinary thing he wears are his sunglasses, who some might recognize as having mirrored edges.
"What's up?" Shodan asks both women "You settling in alright?" he directs to the Orphan.
Shodan? Galatea hadn't at all expected him here. Did he get the invitation? Or was this coincidence? Regardless;
"Hey lad! I'm getting there- hoping to find other ways to ground myself in there."
Galatea nods to the entrance, and the number of land-based forms she could find within.
"How about you? Didn't peg you as a zoo person."
Nonetheless, the Orphan gave a grin and leaned against a wall. A bit of talk outside, while she waited for any other arrivals, would do nicely.

Phoenyx smiles. "Irene. Sure, we can wait up. Some things can only be gotten from first-hand experience. How are you finding your way around?"
She give Shodan a wave. "Hey! How're you?"
Cloaked Monthly Rits (in minisheet)He laughs at Galatea's question "Well, I was kind of hoping to steal the lions and drop them off in the backyard of some rich asshole in River Park. But now that I met you, I think i can postpone the start of the revolution" A pause "What about you? I mean, we all know you are interested in animals, but is it like a science thing as well or just... I dunno, something else?"
Then to Phoenyx "I'm good. Moving in with some of our people to the old Masonic Temple, actually. For studies and such. You? How are things going with your acquired family?"
"Documentaries and textbooks are well and good, but there is an aspect of some animals that cannot be studied or watched- it needs to be truly witnessed, if I am to be like them. And lacking a nearby jungle, this will do."
The Orphan grinned and started walking to the entrance- if anyone else wanted to hop in, they would have to meet inside. Galatea had exhibits to see, overpriced food to buy, and new friends to make!
Buying a ticket, the Thyrsus made her way inside the Zoo, grabbed a map of exhibits and pondered aloud a to where to start next...
Reptiles? The big cats? Birds might be fun. And of course, the Okapi. Galatea wasn't quite sure what point they would serve- well, except that they looked rather appealing.
"Any suggestions?"

Phoenyx nods. "Things are going well. We're slowly redecorating." She cocks her head slightly. "I don't know where that is. Are you joining a new study group?"
She walks in behind Galatia and gets her ticket."I always liked the big cats. Unless you have somewhere you want first? This was your idea, after all."
