Pulling her attention away from distractions around them, Twist forced herself to focus on the conversation that she herself had asked for.
Grinning, she nodded, "Senator Hart as well as maybe Senator Harris."
True, digging had shown that Hart might be the better bet as far as getting what they needed. But it couldn't hurt to at least talk to Lisa Harris. Especially since Kindred had other ways of influencing besides deep pockets.
Darn right you can! Let's go ahead and throw your favorite of Manipulation + Socialize or Manipulation + Politics to pull information from the scene! If you choose to take a -5 penalty on your roll, there may be a particularly interesting nugget on a success! Striking Looks applies to Socialize, but not Politics.
Vivian didn't say much for the gold number. It looked like the glorified 3-eyed raven swam in Lanister gold. But, she really liked the Senator's dress. "You're right, it is classic. Still beautiful nonetheless." That was something that Vivian would actually purchase, the other one, rent for a masquerade.
The Daeva could have used a shot or two, because she was a bit flushed with all the dresses and goings on tonight. She needed to get her barrings, so she would leave it to the experts. She was more of a private flirt, but sometimes she had the flare... hopefully it would come back.

-2 Vitae for Blush of Life and Drink, Ale glances around the room, watching people talk and laugh. Big social gatherings weren't really her thing. Especially when it seem to focus on fashion, something not high on her list of important things. But she tries.
The Kindred spread out, engaging the gathering and taking in the colors and scenes of the party. They had their in with Senator Hart, care of Rebecca Simmons's incredibly deep pockets. But there were other dancers in this recital, and the Invictus needed to know not only who was in charge, but who the local powerbrokers were.
Vivian York, ever the socialite, found an angle, quickly determining who two campaign assistants of Senator Hart's were. A couple of drinks, an incredibly charming smile, and some social banter led her to learn who the representative of the sponsoring company for the event was: one Dr. Parminder Mujrahid, a highly regarded pharmaceutical researcher with Cheiron Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Mujrahid was holding court amidst numerous local politicos and scientists over by a private bar in the VIP section.
Alessandra Antinori, for her part, is digging into the politics. The sponsoring company, it seems, is actually using this evening to decide if one of these Senators would be one they would be backing - in a possible future Presidential race. The Prince was politically savvy enough to know what this meant. Neither of these Senators was the real power at this party. Big Pharma was staring at both, deciding if either would be an appropriate puppet for their interests. Would either Senator be appropriate for the Invictus's desires? And if so, how could they maneuver the situation to gain influence over and some degree of credit for Cheiron's decision?
Rebecca Simmons, though... she positioned herself to hear the juiciest nugget of all. Something that, perhaps, she ought not to have, though she danced from conversation to conversation with ease and grace. A whisper, flickering through heightened senses as she managed to maneuver herself over toward a group of suits...
"Our eyes caught something on camera. She'll pay a fortune to make this go away."
A smug-looking blonde male, murmuring something in the ear of an unknown female in a business suit. To whom he was referring was as of yet unclear.

Twist watched her companions spread out and begin to mingle.
Then, with a grin, she moved off as well. There were outfits to admire, people to schmooze and fun to be had.
Rebecca did not allow the words to surprise her. In fact her mask kept her face from appearing surprised at all. Instead she listened and watched the smug-looking blonde male and the unknown female in a business suit. Would their body language or glances give away their target? She wanted to know just a little more before approaching them.
If Vivian was permitted, she would try and see if she could gain access to the VIP section. This would be quite the intriguing evening if so.

So she listens more, wanting to know if Big Pharm was looking at one Senator more than another. If so, could the Invictus use that?
