Winter, Langdon, and Abacus stare down the door, using sight granted to them by the Supernal to analyze and decode the symbols on it. Immediately all three of them could see that the resonance was drenched in a mixture of gray and green. They could also see that the spell had a potency of 6.

On top of that, Langdon and Abacus could see that the spell had one target, the door.

Langdon though was able to pierce even further than the other two. He could see that the duration was for several years and he was able to isolate the signature of the caster. If he saw one of their spells again he would know it.

Since you guys didn't specify the focus of the Scrutiny I doled them out in this order "Composition, Potency, Targets, Duration, Identification, Power, and Mastery". Abacus can attempt up to your Gnosis if you're so inclined. Galatea you can also roll Int + Occ a number of times equal to your gnosis as well if you'd like.

When vulgar magic is cast, the frequency of the oscillation of the dark fluid surges until the shadows arrange themselves in a solid black halo around Winter's head, the white light darkens into a fiery black sunlight and his eyes are set ablaze with vivid incandescence.

"It's a ward", the Guardian addresses Langdon, "against life, to keep prying eyes out", a pause. "How naive", he adds.
The Obrimos begins chanting, he sees himself in his imago, but different. His resonance and aura have been eradicated, dissolved with a finesse that only a Scion of the Golden Key could muster.
He touches the handle of the door.

    Galatea

Galatea nodded slightly, closing her eyes to think a bit more.

"Smart enough to keep out the sleeping ones- there might be worse awaiting us inside."
Deep breaths as potential traps went through her mind, and the most practical formation to deal with them.

"I'm most likely one of the more formidable in this group when it comes to seeing and taking harm.. I should probably take the lead. Someone experienced at seeing potential magic dangers should be alongside as well, or close behind depending on space. The rest should just be ready... Ah... If that is sound, to the rest of you."

A month of animal instincts had certainly shaped the Thyrsus- no way it was this easy, right? Walk in, find some secrets, some shiny bits and tomes? The Orphan would be pleasantly surprised (or perhaps severely disappointed) if there wasn't so much as a tripwire. And recalling what little she knew of the people here (the new face was a clear anomaly), as a Thyrsus and an Arrow she was well-suited to take point.

"If we have time once inside, I'd also prefer to shift into something more useful. Just warning you in advance."
Even with the lack of individuals, as noted by one of the faces, changing out in the open was probably ill-advised.

"More or less." Langdon replies to Abacus with a small shrug. If Winter took orders from another mage Langdon wouldn't have the slightest clue who.

"That working though, that lasted for years. It was damn strong too. Weird that its only on the door though. They could have worked that across the entire house if they wanted. " Before Langdon can comment Winter works a glyph and touches the door. Well then.

The Moros sighs. For a Guardian sometimes Winter is confusing. Then Langdon looks at Galatea. "Violence and I don't get along so be my guest. And avoid anything too crazy in the open." A finger points towards Winter as Langdon isn't too sure if the new mage knows what Winter is.

"As to be expected." The Acanthus grumbled audibly. He was still upset about his unfinished crossword, but the presence of a Ward of this magnitude on such a small scale prompted an interest in a new kind of mystery. But he had to be sure before he took another step. His Savant mind demanded assurance. Certainty. What would happen when he touched the door? There were a myriad of potential outcomes. He needed to know if this was the worldline that gave him victory.

The Guardian took no time at all to enter the place. The movement of his lips was an indicator of work being done. Abacus didn't open his eyes to the nature of it. He considered doing it later; reading for salience. But the thought passed and the Supernal gears in his mind started to whir. The Imago of seeing through a window into a room of segmented glass, each pane a possibility pressed behind his eyes.

He felt the corner of his Rubix Cube press into the pads of his fingers as he withdrew his tool. A section clicked as it was pushed with a singular figure. Another moved in quick succession. The clicking seemed louder than the High Speech that fell from his lips. Words of knowing and opening.

"Security countermeasures, as Mr. Langdon can easily confirm from his advanced studies", the Guardian says absent-mindedly as he crouches on his knee to better inspect the lock, "are a very basic tool in the arsenal of every privacy conscious citizen".
"But no matter how tight the system is, there are always ways for an shrewd intruder to defy those abstract categorizations. By changing your label, for example",
he looks at Langdon, "You still got your knife, right?"

    Galatea

Galatea shrugs gently. The man was rather... Something.

"If it's only on the door, that does raise some questions... Perhaps the mage was powerful enough to use exceptional space arcana? That might be another reason it's only linked to the door.... And a reason it's only recently come to our attention? A sanctum that can change locations with ease, connected to a single entrance."

Ok, old Miyazaki films were kinda responsible for that idea. Still, it should technically be feasible- and clever, if the mage was careful enough. Space seemed a rather fickle practice.

"... Or perhaps the wards were stronger before, but completely invisible to us, and have somehow worn off over time? Not sure if that's even possible for them- wards aren't my specialty."

Galatea pulled out her phone and flipped through downloaded manga, her guilty pleasure- and one of the few things she'd missed on her journey- it seemed they had time to kill.

"Always?" More concern than curiosity fills Langdon's reply to Winter. "We shouldn't need it though to open a door. Should be pretty simple if it's just a door." Assumptions and all, if this had remained hidden for years at that potency its likely no one even saw the thing. The Moros shifts to look at Galatea. "That's a good point. Though it'd almost be easier to have a place warded up and you be the only one who knows what the location looks like on the inside."

Not that that would stop some but even that has limits. You can't see the cracks in reality from a photo.

"I should be able to soften the door around the hinges if unlocking it doesn't work." At least until Matter no longer applies.

It was clear to those who had looked that the spell was failing, and when Winter touched the handle the last remnants of arcane magic dissipated back into the Tapestry. With a single touch of the doorknob it turned, as if asking the mages to come inside. But ignoring the fact that the spell dispelled as if on its own and the door opened as if the words 'open sesame' had been spoke; the weirdest point of all was that just past the cartilage of the door a long dark stairwell. Even stranger was the fact that the walls to said stairwell, constructed out of stone and mortar, did not appear to match the material of the house in anyway.

As Abacus's thoughts reached out through time for the simplest of answers, what he could tell was there were no traps on the door or the stairs, but past that was darkness and uncertainty.

    Sorry for the delay everyone.

"Tread softly." Abacus didn't like the feeling. Uncertainty; a basin that needed to be filled. But the door was open. And if its construction was any indication, what lay past it could be something truly magnificent.

"And keep your wits about you."
