    The Nox Populi Nightclub.
In the heart of downtown Sacramento there is a place of intrigue, excitement and entertainment. The modern flare of this venue is host to exclusive parties. The seduction of this establishment may take you away as you drink, dance and socialize. There are private services available upon request. The best DJ’s in town are in line to play a wide variety of music. Some of you may dine…as long as you have your VIP pass.

Winter ebbs outside as the Nox nightclub's upstairs section fills with students just after their midterms. Full of youthful promise and excitement, they bring a certain pep to the step of everyone around them, including those who dance the slow Danse of the eternal undead.

When the Kindred arrive they are discreetly met and led to the back of the club. The space downstairs is decorated in dark, rich woods and expensive furniture. There's a coat room that will also hold one's 'unmentionables'; namely, weapons, at the foot of the stairs. There are also private areas, dark, and furnished with soft couches, as well as meeting rooms with conference tables and chairs, and an area with several televisions.

However the Kindred arrive they are discreetly met and led to the back of the club. The Court area is decorated with long black and red silken drapes cascading from floor to ceiling. Drapes hang in elegant bunches and gathered into valances across door frames and between supporting pillars; the lighting is intentionally low, and even with the gentle pulse of music from above, the place has the feel of a sepulchre.

The common area circles the Court proper, and it becomes apparent that this is not a place used just for a single evening. Small symbols note areas for Kindred only that branch off of the Commons, which will be necessary once those Kine privileged enough to see behind the Masquerade filter in: ghouls, herd members, or even devotees.

Another evening; another Danse. For some it will their first, for some it shall be their last. After all, this is the Prince's Elysium, and subject to the Laws of the Domain.

Eternal Court is open once more...

Please remember that Predator's Taint is in effect and role-play is expected, or rolls will be asked for!

This is a great place to get Acknowledged

A posting is circulated in advance of Court:

    QuoteQuote:
    Kindred of Sacramento:

Understand that decorum and respect for Her Majesty and Her Officers in Court is not optional.

At the upcoming Court gathering, I will have a book in my hand. It is the new Elvis Cole novel. I love detective stories. Don't be the Kindred who makes me look up from said book due to poor form.

    Lina Moretti
    Sheriff of Sacramento
Grand Wyrm of the Ordo Dracul
And there she was, sitting on her usual couch in the corner, reading a purple-colored novel. The Sheriff wore a simple navy blue dress with stockings and sensible black shoes, her knife slung casually from a belt that cinched tightly at her waist to add shape. Sitting there, she looked peaceful, all the cues of humanity coming off her as she breathed and Blushed, a model of one of the Ordo Dracul's more obvious transcendences of the Curse.

She was about fifty pages into the novel. There was plenty of book to go.

Well. First day back since the... Incident... Seth was pretty sure this would go about as well as could be expected. Worth killing him over? Suppose he'd find out. The thief had found a new home- a wretched place of course, but it let him sleep comfortably during the day. And at the end of it all, he was still damn good at when he did. Uncouth as he may be, they couldn't say he lacked talent in certain areas.

He'd received the posting, and was more than a little certain the general statement held a directed criticism. Dog eat dog world, after all.

The suit again- nothing comfortable in court of course. He didn't own another one, but that suited Seth fine. A simple greeting to the sheriff, seeming almost like a convict talking to their parole officer.

"Sheriff. Not sure if I need to make you aware of my presence whenever I come to these things now. Regardless, I'll be skulking in a corner somewhere. Out of sight, and all that."
An apology wouldn't be genuine, and thus would mean nothing. The act of giving one might- but Seth was a tad too prideful to give in that quick. Not as if he enjoyed crowds in the first place- he was more than happy to have his name on the attendance sheet crossed off, and let that be that.
    Anything else?

And so came the Pale Rider.

Steady footfalls in heavy motorcycle boots veined with patina announced Madcap's arrival as he descended to Elysium.

As he reached the base of the stairwell, Madcap took in the Kindred before him. A cute, athletic little gal on the far couch and a shifty looking fella in a generic suit. The Beast within wanted to rend them both, it wanted to tear into them and imbibe in there stolen Vitae. However, the quarrelsome thing was ignored.

If Madcap had a care, he would assume he was underdressed, but tonight was not a formal court and appearing like a stiff in suit on his first night would have seemed disingenuous. Instead, the Bruja before these two Kindred of Sacramento was dressed in a manner consistent with his lifestyle. A sturdy pair of blue jeans, stained lightly with earth, a well loved leather jacket, and an old gray Henley t-shirt.

Madcap would not linger by the stairwell long. He had heard the man address the woman as 'Sheriff' and a Domain official was as good as any to get a lead on the Priscus of Savages and the Grand Wyrm.

Thus, the Gangrel approached, granting the woman a nod. The man was ignored.

"Evening, Sheriff," he offered, "People call me Madcap, was looking for a few folks."

The Bruja's tone was not aggressive but neither was it entirely friendly. It was impassive. Madcap had to see to his establishment here and frankly rubbing elbows with undead bureaucrats was not something he desired nor offered him any great deal of pleasure.

It wasn't a formal court this month, so aside from a small pair of rose earrings, Twist arrived at the Nox without the obvious displays of clan and covenant. Instead she dressed to fit in with the kine above.

Breezing past the coat check, she noted that she was amongst the first arrivals. Her Beast noted it too ... well, noted that she wasn't alone. And it very much pressed to make it so she was. Locking it back, she ignored the demands and gave a nod of greeting toward Lina.

She had seen the posting. It had sparked some curiosity on what had caused it, but not quite enough to drive her to approach and interrupt the conversation that a rather imposing individual plus one were apparently initiating with her.

Mable entered court wearing a bluish-gray suit. She was determined to continue to work towards a more professional image. This was a far cry from some of her more interesting and colorful outfits of the past. She stood at the top of the stairs and saw Lina reading. If Lina looked up Mable would nod. Mable nodded to Twist if Twist glanced at her. There was Seth and there was a new face. Time to go meet and greet.

Mable descended the stairs and the beasts washed over her. She pasted on a warm smile and took in a slow deep breath and let it out. Her own beast screamed in her ears and head, kill...kill...this place would look delicious washed in blood of your enemies. Mable paused mid-step took another cleansing breath and breathed away the voices inside of her.

Once she was down stairs she saw the new face speaking to the Sheriff. Mable headed to a position close to the Sheriff in case she was needed. Because, seriously, no one liked having their book interrupted.

Elysium was sparse with Kindred. Clara lingered at the coat check, even if her outfit left little room for a weapon. Her one one piece of armor: a rose brooch on her lapel signifying clan. The posting put up by the Sheriff gave Clara some light reading to do as she was frisked.

Clara nodded when the coat check finished and descended down the stairs. Clara loved the duality of Elysium; the idea of locking predators in the same room with one unbreakable rule left little outlet for natural aggression. So came the subtler aspects of the Danse and the little death that ensnares the weak and condemns the strong to another night.

New sneakers pressed into the inner sanctum as Clara approached the Duchess of Sacramento. It was always eerie that the woman's Beast was masked from Clara. The mystery of her strength made the Bacchante taste a small reminder of what fear felt like.

Clara dropped into a deep curtsy and dipped her head to drop her gaze. "Most Graceful Duchess Twist. It's been too long--my apologies for my sudden absence. Might I ask, however, is this weather making you wish for snow?" She asked as she rose up out of her curtsy with a pleasant half-smirk. "I ask since it's only proper that the Most Illustrious Duchess of Sacramento's wishes be fulfilled in as timely a manner as possible." Respect and deference to established Kindred. That was one of the many breakable rules of Kindred. Break it at your peril.

First thing you will notice about Ale is the abundance of her tattoos. They go from her face all the way to her feet, and not much is left bare. The second thing? Her strong Italian accent.

Court. Would it be a quiet evening, or one filled with more missteps from Kindred who didn’t know their place? Only the night would tell. But one thing was certain, her patience was at an all-time low. Her Humanity was even lower, and it was both scary, but comfortable.

She never bothered with Blush in Court, let them see her corpse like appearance. She cared not.

Walking into the room wearing a deep red dress with a black belt that showed off a tiny waist, she scanned the room. There was a new face, and a returning face. Her Beast raged at the weaker Beast that dared be here. It purred in her ear at how easy it would be to end them, add to her collection. How good it felt to end a life. But not tonight.

Cain stood at her side, his terrifying presence and murderous gaze sweeping the room as well. He was over a hundred pounds of anger and muscle. He just needed a simple work from her to rip throats out. Would tonight be his night?

A bow of her head was offered to Twist . Seeing Lina, she nods her head. The others were simply looked at as she moves off to the side to sit and watch. If someone wanted her, they could come to her.

    Thomas Boyle

Lots of Beasts. Weak ones. Powerful ones. Obfuscated ones. Even if Thomas wasn't a Harpy, he certainly couldn't miss out on Court for long, so tonight the Lord is in attendance. A simple dark blue suit is what the others would see. Indeed, the Malkovian was not one to spend a long time in front of a mirror.

His Danse tonight takes him on a curve, starting with the Prince, greeted with a bow and a "Your Majesty", then proceeding to Twist and a woman that seems to know the Daeva well. They both get a polite bow, albeit less deep than that offered to the Prince "Alder Archon Twist" he says, and to the other just "Madam". He only lingers long enough for the women to give any response they'd deem appropriate.

This little trip gave his beast quite a lot to process, too. Alessandra's monster was terrifying and clawed and powerful - as it should be, and it roared of death. Twist's Beast was veiled in secrecy. The one this unknown woman posessed was a challenger, equal in power, demanding bloodshed.

Good thing then, that some familiar and friendly faces are here, too. He goes towards the Gangrel Priscus "Mable! Good evening" It was the closest thing to joy he could express in this snake pit, even if the other Acolyte's inner monster was a challenger also.

Finally, he hovers near the Sheriff (silencing the Beast that howled for her blood) and the two men (eat the suited one, kick out the biker, the Beast implored) "Sheriff" he greeted Moretti with a smile on his face. "Sir" he directed at the biker, but said no more as he seemed to be just starting something with the Daeva Dragon. That left the suited one.

"Good evening. Thomas Boyle, a Ventrue Acolyte of the Crone. I don't think we've had a chance to speak" A hand is extended in greeting to Seth Kind .

Jacque arrived, walking into the room wearing a cognac colored paisley vest. It was always a mixture of emotions to be among a meeting of the Sacramento Kindred. The pull between terror and violence was always an uncomfortable struggle. There were once again new faces. There were always new faces but some few were the same... were always terrifying. It became easier to still the beast over the months knowing his mask protected him from the reciprocated feelings, so long as he remained wise with his words. Wiser than others.

He glanced over to Lina being true to her warning and was surprised to see two individuals approach her. Perhaps they were confident of a good-natured interruption? Still, it felt foolhardy to try and disrupt someone who has warned their intention to enjoy a good read.

Catching eyes with the domain officials was met with respectful bows of his head. First seeing Twist enter, much less formal than the last time he saw her, "Alder Archon Twist" She was the only Domain official he had not had the opportunity to meet and talk with in person. Perhaps tonight would be different.

Turning to her Majesty, "Prince Antinori, good evening." She looked different than before, but he couldn't quite place it. Perhaps the recent wave of disrespect was weighing on her demeanor. "I'm still looking forward to seeing your collection of art, should you find yourself with time. How have you been?"

Smiles and nods were granted to others, familiar or not.
