The Breakfast Table

Kaze nods. "I get that, Sir. I really do. I lost my mom to cancer and then my grandfather." he says.

"But, well, I mean I didn't get too far into Life, but one thing that starts off at basic is how it's connected to Spirit. Like, the Lie for Force is that all the Laws of Physics are real boundaries...in Life the Lie is that the physical is it's own, discrete reality. It isn't. So...dying...isn't the end of Life, the life doesn't really end or disappear. It's just...a different energy level." Kaze explains.

"Sorry, Sir. I'm sure you know all this and more. It's just that, if I don't use magic to heal a Sleeper who is dying, it's not really letting a person end because of the Veil, it's more like not interfering in a change of state that is as natural as ice thawing out to liquid form and then evaporating."

[Phoenyx]

"That's okay. It's... helped, to talk to some of the other consillium members on my own. Overcome my... reluctance to converse with people." Not all Wars were battlefields - Phoenyx just hated forcing conversation, preferring to listen. "Not really. I've only had Aurora and Shodan show up so far and they're both utter newbies. Had to go entirely from first principles - but they both seemed keen, and have kept trying, so they'll get better. I might do another introduction session to try and get some more numbers."

She plucks a couple of rashers of bacon and continues. "I spent a lot of time studying Life. One of the things that was pointed to me is that all life, ultimately, is the same. It is all Life. The more you learn, the more you see the similarities in all things." She shrugs. "Then again my sensei was a philosophical sort, for a Thyrsus."

[Kaze]

Kaze chuckles,"Duly noted, Sir. I actually meant about Sleepers, Sir. Natural processes...well, I didn't mean Awakened, and I definitely didn't mean not healing you or Phoenyx or anyone else in our Consilium." he says earnestly.

"I'm good for hitting the mats, Sir." he says, taking a final scoop of eggs and getting up to clear the plates from the table and wash them at the kitchen sink.

[Phoenyx]

Phoenyx looks up. "The Arcarnum of Life is about recognising all life are the same, and can be shifted and changed the same. When life dies, its energies return to the earth, which gives forth new life. Life, becoming the cosmos, becoming Life again." The Supernal was the self, after all. "Chosing to heal or not... Ethically, mpst would agree healing an individual is a good act - and possible Wise - in and of itself, but when you can, but must retain secrecy lest the greater dangers of the Abyss come forth, that decision is no longer clear... even a simple choice has multitudes and the right path becomes a battle.... At least, that is one philosophy," she says with a small smile. It seemed Phoenyx was something of a philosopher when she came out of her shell.

She eats the bacon quietly as Alastor addresses her. "It is... a different war. But one I think I am winning. For now."

The Obrimos tenses slightly at the casual question, but looks to the First Talon and nods. "I'm ready. Let's do it."

Kaze smiles, broadly, apparently just in a particularly good mood.

Yay! My log jam of scenes is clearing a bit! I am up for playing out some training; it would only be the second time, though I haven't actually spent any xp on it since then. As long as this one closes first, I can join a training scene!

Phoenix gets up and starts stretching her arms.

If we start a new scene we could bring Galatia in. I'm easy either way.
