The gym was in a warehouse, in a neighborhood of warehouses and some apartments. It wasn't a dump. Yelp said it was the best for lifting weights, and Matt needed to start going out somewhere to lift weights, so he wouldn't pick up the weights at home and throw them through things when he let his anger out.

The people were nice, which was annoying, but they knew what they were talking about, which was nice. Matt learned some things about technique and did some lifts that seemed like they would probably be more effective than what he had started doing on his own.

Not bad. Matt was able to crank up music in the earbuds and push himself. There were some guys there lifting serious weights, way more experienced and maybe some were just stronger too. It was good. Motivating. Matt figured it was worth a membership. He'd be back, regularly.
