Kaze waits a beat in the car, then reaches over and starts the engine, not yet moving over to the driver's side.

The other message reaches Alastor's device.
Shodan , the car is undoubtedly receiving a video feed, a small logo starts forming in the top right corner of the display, but it's still too early
The display keeps beeping. Suddenly, Shodan's phone rings.

Kaze sighs as he realizes he has no direct contact for Winter. "I'm trying to leave the spying to the professionals, sir. You don't make it easy." he murmurs under his breath.

He pastes the message into a new text ans sends to First Talon Alastor and Hierarch Campenella instead.

He moves over to the driver's side and prepares to get out of there, still waiting on Shodan for the moment.

Bit after bit, the image matrix is reconstructed in front of Shodan's eyes. On the top right corner, the unfamiliar sight of a cybernetic eye. Promising nothing good.
Amid the noise, scenes from the race are being broadcasted to the display. A handful of seconds, shot from variable angles and a host of security cameras, until the spotlights are turned over Shodan himself, now the star of the show. He's on air, live streamed from a camera inside the cabin to the console monitor of the car itself, where else? Only God knows.

"Mr ******", the Obrimos is greeted by the sound of a metallic voice, wielding his hacking alias like a dagger, "if you see the flash, it's already too late", the conversation is cut abruptly, and Shodan is left between the dead tone of the receiver and the intensified beeping from the display.
But he doesn't have much time left, for what happens next...

[Wits + Occult, 1 suxx, Shodan notices the nagging feeling crawling at the back of his peripheral mage sight, a single spark, running at the speed of light itself igniting the exponential growth of a chain reaction. One after another, a multitude of atoms break their molecular bonds, all at the speed of thought. A cascade of energy washes and sets everything alight. The heat grows under the Chassis of the car, hundred of synapses flaring up together at the speed of an electron. Energy unbridled. And then his sight is overloaded]

Kaze: The phone falls from his hands, and for a moment he's left stunned. THE SUN. THE SUN. THE SUN. Is it DAWN already?
A torrent of energy, overloading his sight. Then a crash and a deafening boom. [Wit + Comp, 2 successes, to recollect your bearings]

Kaze recovers, taking stock of the new situation. His eyes and ears, body, the car...the van, Shodan....?

The blast is followed by an earth shattering quake. The car spasms, its chassis rewired and ruptured like the rib-cage of a wounded animal, exploding outward in a tempest of shards and searing hot metal. Propelled by the shock-wave, the debris rends entire pieces off the tarmac.
Flames, a mesmerizing waterfall of flames, ripples through the air. Everywhere, smoke, the smell of plastic and acid and burnt flesh permeates the air. Of the SUV and its driver, only a pile of ashes will soon remain.
Shodan has been ejected by the blast, landing face-down a few meters away from the Hierarch's car. Luckily, the smooth ride has resisted the impact.

Shodan: In the beginning, there was nothing. And God said, “Let there be light.” Small, at first, like the head of a pin, it soon ballooned until everything was ignited by the fires of the Aether. The Obrimos can't see, but he can sense. The vortex of flames caressing his skin, gently tugging at his clothes before being guided away by the supernal pull of the Aether. It's not the flames that he must fear, it's the maelstrom of kinetic energy guiding the small strands of metal through his flesh, slipping past the folds of his armor. It's the thickness of the daggers of glass piercing his skin inches away from severing his femoral artery. It's his own phone that - as if guided by a malignant fate - shatters against his force shield, thus propelling its battery against his - now cracked - ribs.
Eternity condensed into a few seconds, yet barely enough time to resign himself to his fate, for the hard kiss of the tarmac is already there, waiting for his face.

Kaze: First aid is Dex + Medicine, an extended action, if number of successes > wounds, in our case 7, the target is healed for 1 bashing.

Since Shodan failed to get away.
The explosion dealt 6 automatic damage plus another rolled 6 (3 suxx scored). Totaling 9 damage minus 3 automatically absorbed by Force Shield. Shodan takes 6 damage, since Shodan already suffered from two bashing wounds, one of his bashing will roll off his healthbox, leaving him with a total of 6 lethal and 1 bashing.
Remember, pattern scouring 1 dot of STR or DEX for 24 hours yields 3 mana. Pattern restoration can be performed once a day, it's an instant action over several turns, 3 mana heal 1 lethal or bashing wound.

Kaze gets his bearings, and when he's composed enough to function, gets out of the car and moves to Shodan.

He takes a breath, sighs, takes another breath and chants, casting Healer's Trance to assess whether he can move Shodan to another location to work on him, or if he is in immediate peril of dying if he doesn't get extended medical attention on the spot. Or if he's just dead.
