(1902) Meeting of Light

A church. Seriously, a church? And so far away- was a closer location not convenient? Or was this a precaution, in case things got serious? The weather wasn't any better. The beaches were a miserable place to be with this cold, and she wasn't about to risk swim-shifting in a chlorine pool... Not that she had private access to one. Things to aspire towards.

With her shark-stylized leather jacket for warmth, Galatea walked in... It smelled awful. Seriously, who enjoyed the smell of incense? It just clogged the senses. The place reeked of ceremony.

"Sup everyone. Galatea. Arrow. Nice place you have here. Really gives off the 'humanity's best interest' vibe."

Who was responsible for this setup? She half-understood the system in place, though Galatea wasn't one for organization normally.

Campanella turned toward the voice of the newcomer, his posture shifting in his seat.

"Campanella. Hierarch."

He was not about to divulge everything in a single sitting.

"Thank you; you are welcome. The incense does work, I think. Much better than simply meeting in a draughty hallway."

Which is what they had been doing in many ways.

"You are welcome here, Galatea. If you seek your Order, look no further than the Aegis cabal: Alastor, Kaze and Phoenyx."

Campanella lifted a hand and gently gestured to where the Arrows had taken up their self appointed posts. Sentinels in all but name. Not for the first time he considered the possibilities. And not for the last time he put those thoughts to one side; they had only just chosen a Hierarch. Should he dare and impose even more structure on the wayward and fragile Consilium?

An amused half-smile crossed Alastor's face as the fit female made her way in and announced herself. The Heirarch introduced him, and so he stepped forward to offer a handshake.

"Galatea. Welcome."

Was that a shark jacket?

"I'm Alastor, the First Talon of this garrison. You've come to a busy front. We've got a hot war on, you see."

That last was said with a chuckle. Everywhere had a war on, but this one was hot, with teams hitting past and present at the Clock's whims...

"Where have you come from?"

Kaze moves over, just to the side an a little behind Alastor, to greet the newcomer, Galatea. "Kaze. Arrow. Obrimos." he says with a friendly smile of welcome.

Abacus's questions went unacknowledged by Cosmo. The truth was that a newcomer (Abacus or himself) didn't know anyone in the room well enough to know if their hearts were in the right place, nor did they know whether the people vouching for them were any better. That's part of what made you new, the need to learn about people's motivations and ambitions by talking to them. Cosmo preferred a more subtle approach, knowing that there was Time to learn and that knowledge of that variety was best earned rather then demanded. He would speak with the Heirarch eventually, as well as his absent Councilor.

"I'm Cosmo, Obrimos Apostate." He said turning his attention to Galatea. "I just got here as well."

Phoenyx give the new Arrow a small upwards nod at Campenella's introduction but remains silent, her face impassive. Far better for Alastor to do the meet-and-greet so she can see what the structure is.

As everyone introduces themselves, so does the Prime Mover.

"Shodan. Obrimos Libertine. Nice jacket"

And to Alastor's words he adds:

"Oh, yes. We have hunters, time travel machines, animated constructs and probably a bunch of other madness brewing. So, pick your ride. We're like Disneyland, but all the attractions carry the possibility of death or debilitating injury. Meaning it's not unlike the real Disneyland"

Well. Everyone here was certainly welcoming and to the point. Galatea could get behind that. A war? Greeeat. As for where she'd come from...

"Oh? I see things haven't changed much. As for where I've come from... Eh... Somewhere in the North Pacific? Took some time to plan, but it was the best month of my life. Speaking of which. If there's no risk of sleepers, I'm going to change into something a bit more comfortable."

Galatea took off the leather jacket and put it aside, pulling a copper-backed hand mirror out of her bag. She hadn't had the chance to change since returning from her ocean-escape-retreat-experience, and it was bugging the Thyrsus to no end. Galatea proceeded to focus on her features, and started the process.

"Proteus, reward this arrow's strength and let her shed this shell, that she may wear something more true." Gestures started to accompany the words, and anyone nearby would start to smell saltwater, as the changes began.

The first thing to notice was her skin. The fleshy material started to harden and turn a grey color. Next was her teeth, which seemed to sharpen and grow as a gasp escaped the new maw and the third change appeared- a harmless manta ray tail (she figured venom was probably a bad idea here) just above her pants. And finally, her whole body seemed to stretch and contort, growing until she was a good head taller than the average man- and somewhat bulkier.

Her clothes were fine- a bit tight, but she'd experimented plenty to find the right brands to accommodate. Giving a stretch in her new skin, the Arrow put the mirror back in the bag, and settled for tossing the leather jacket over a shoulder. Galatea gave a toothy grin to the mages in the room and sighed in relief, tail swaying gently.

"That's muuuchhhh better. Hope no one minds me taking some liberties- I rarely get to change anywhere not in my own home. Gods it's good to be back."

There was a roll of blue eyes as the new girl transformed herself. Sipping her coffee, she turns away, focusing on the more important matters. Not some flashy new face who wasn't worth the attention.

Let the Arrows deal with it.

"Well, didn't see that coming. Must be residual temporal static. Fish out of water. Don't mistake me for your chum just yet." Kasterbourous started to inch toward the door away from the Queen Fisher.
