"Indeed, come in come in." The Head agent says to Mable, not waiting for Johnny to say anything. "Johnny, go downstairs, your family is fine, just like I promised. Stay down there until we are gone. Remember... we know."

At that point, Johnny nearly ran down the steps, saying nothing, only stopping for a moment to make eye contact with Lina, He hoped beyond hope that she could forgive him.

The Federal agent then turns to Lina and Mable, "Well, ladies, do you two know each other?"

The agent who escorted Mable in closed the front door and leaned against it. They would have to go through him, if they wanted out the door. Also, they don't know if it is only those two...

Moretti smiled politely at the Fed, ignoring Johnny for now. She didn't really feel like being all buddy-buddy or forgiving in this second, but it was certainly possible that this wasn't going to get horrifying just yet. Talking was better than the alternative, so she'd hear them out.

"She does some work on the side for me. I called her in when Johnny sounded like he was in danger. A private investigation firm and their contractors offering personal protection services in association with a case is legal in California, Agent."

She let it hang a moment, curious if she'd pick up any concern or hint of motives off him. Probably not, but motives were important.

"So. Let's cut to the chase, boys. Time is money, and I'm getting the sense you're not exactly playing with a warrant and a badge right now. What do you want, and what are you offering for it? There are a heck of a lot of easier ways to hire me to do a thing that don't involve firearms."

Mable nodded when Lina spoke. "Sorry I didn't get here sooner." She said simply to Lina. Mable figured less said by herself the better.

"Right." The Fed says before turning his gaze from Mable to Lina, "That is the correct answer at least."

The Fed takes a seat in that arrogant hey champ lets talk about your feelings kind of way that guidance counselors would talk to you in school.

"Everything involves firearms sooner or later in our business Lina Moretti. I'd say we'd pay you with your life, but we know that you don't care all that much about that."

The man shifts in his seat, "So here is the deal. Marcuson got blasted by some thugs trying to buy weapons from bad cops on the run. Bad cops you scared up. So, you are gonna finish what you started, and get our guns back. We don't much care what happens to the thugs, or the cops for that matter, but we want our equipment back.

"Sounds like I did the Government a favor, but it is too bad about Marcuson."

She smiled politely.

"Show me the file. I assume you have one. I'll need to know what I'm dealing with."

Mable sat calmly, focusing on breathing slowly. No better time than the present to practice her yoga breathing. She chewed on her bottom lip as she listened. She watched everyone carefully. Mostly, she watched Lina. She would follow Lina's lead. As with Rebecca, the important thing was to keep Lina safe.

At the mention of bad cops Mable raised an eyebrow. She did not like the sounds of that. Her friends in the force were good people and needed to be safe, but for now she needed to just sit and wait.

The man just chuckles and removes a small notebook from his inner pocket and hands it across to Miss Moretti. "Everything you need to know is in here."

She peered at the agent, a little sniff of air out her nose as she marked him forever in her mind. She'd remember this. One night, her memory would prove a Very Bad Thing for this individual. Some knife in the dark. Some hungry Nosferatu, as he lay in bed sleeping. Murder wasn't her bag, but it was the bag of enough Kindred that it would, one night, catch up to him.

Her hand came out, and she took the notebook.

"We'll be in touch. You have a safe night, you hear?"

Glancing to Mable, she gave a nod to the Fed, as though inquiring if she was good to go. If she was, then go she would, with a text to her people.

The man takes his phone out of his pocket, looks at it, then up at Lina, then back to the phone, "Well, have at thee. We will be in touch."
