The laptop chimed with a bell, as the New York Stock Exchange opened at 9:30 AM, Eastern Standard. The Lords eyes danced over the candlestick patterns that flashed across the screen in real-time. It had always been an amusing prospect, to Ashley - the ability to conduct business in New York at the opening of the market. The solution was rather simple, albeit a bit nonlinear - as it required being located elsewhere across the globe.

It was past midnight in Russia for Ashley, and she was a 'two-birds, one stone' kinda girl. Business called her to the port, and with the opportunity - she readjusted her positioning in the market. The schedule for her nights had been full - with a wake-up, night cap, business meeting, opening bell, and another business meeting. She detested Vladivostok, during the winter, but some things just could not be helped.

For many, it was hard to see the forest through the trees. Which kindred in Sacramento would be affected by the increased tariffs in the trade war between China and the United States? Ashley felt it was a number close to, or equal to zero. Still, it was there - a boon or a bane depending on the positions. It was probably about the same as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries proposed cuts, going into effect this month.

The Lords eyes dipped down to the keyboard, as she ceased movement and mused over these thoughts. Theses were interesting times, but probably not. It was just the same shit, but a different day. The power scheme of the globe was shifting, but it was constantly shifting. Still it lead Ashley to a curious question, who else was playing the market?

The Lord shook her head as that was not the important question - who is changing the market...

Ashley closed up the laptop and set it down on the coffee table. She leaned back against the sofa as she stared up at the ceiling of the yacht. For nearly half a century, there was great power held by the Middle East in controlling production, and for the first time they were faltering.

Ashley stood up and gave an apathetic shrug, as she was not really invested in Oil Futures. Besides, she had other shit to settle, such as getting ready to go to the club...
