MantleSonnie rose to her feet, quietly dusted off the knees of her pants, and stepped away from the door. The Beast readied her staff and looked to Maxwell with a nod.
"Big room. Some sort of weird echo in there. That's all I could make out," she whispered to her compatriots.

Distinctive Voice"Somebody has been meeting here until not too long ago", she says as a matter of fact, "the chairs have been pulled. But the room is not decrepit enough to suggest abandon, which mean somebody has been taking care of it. That implies that this person hasn't had yet the time to come back and reorder", she motioned with her arm at the chairs and a wave of wisps came off to surround the table, "this".
"Not bad for a Guinevere, eh!", she quipped back at the monkey.
That of course, was her imagination running wild rather than the result of any actual Sherlock Holmesing.

Pierce nodded, then his hand came out and he opened the door. Peeking the corner to see if anything heinous came out at him, he would proceed to the next area of cover if it was safe, moving toward the sound on quiet feet and investigating further.
Max will proceed to the next spot of significance, to keep things rolling.

MantleSonnie stared at Titania for a long, silent moment, "Um, 'kay."
She turned and watched the Wizened open the door and enter the mystery room. With a quick intake of breath, she followed him, trying to be sneakier this time.
The monkey was somehow worse at the whole stealth thing now than the last time. Not that she tripped and knocked off a stack of dishes or something, but it wouldn't be hard for someone paying attention to notice her.
I really need to practice this ninja shit,she grumbled internally.
The way the Changelings were moving wasn't relevant. The awful noise they heard earlier came from behind the door along the wall. It echoed this time, like it was someplace deeper. It was even more awful than it was the last time they heard it, and it went on for much longer. There was also the sound of something metallic hitting something else.
They had moved through the door to the area where the sound came from, and found a winding staircase that was very narrow beneath a small panel in the floor that looked like the rest of the floor.
They'd have to choose whether or not to descend and see what was further below.
Okay. A questionable hidden tunnel. Now, that was sufficient to draw the necessity of weapons being ready to be live. Reaching into his jacket with both hands, Winter's Chatelaine produced two efficient-looking pistols that had previously had suppressors attached. Chambered in .40, the weapons would do the trick against most things that existed in the world. Racking the slides and looking them over in a flash, the spook gestured to Sonnie.
"Would you care to lead the way?"
He would merely be in her way, if she needed to close the distance on a narrow stairwell. On the other hand, he was confident in his ability to shoot around her.
Max will follow Sonnie, or lead if she does not wish to.

MantleSonnie almost squealed in delight at the discovery of the secret, spoooooky tunnel. Almost. The monkey remained quiet, thankfully. She did, however, grin and hop from foot to foot in excitement.
At Maxwell's gentlemanly offer, the Beast nodded her head and advanced into the underground passage, crouching in a simian stance. Her staff was held ready to poke assailants really hard in the eye!

Distinctive VoiceShe gave a soft yelp at the sight of a gun being pulled so brazenly. Her wisps panicked in a frenzy.
Even more shocking was the audacity of their plan, to explore a secret shaft, letting Sonnie go first to boot. Regardless of how feral or powerful she might have been, Sonnie was unpredictable. But again, Ladies always went first. Besides, she was almost sure that Sonja could dodge bullets.
"Is this really safe? Won't her staff be of hindrance in such a close space, can she even jump?", she whispered.
Still, she followed them, deciding to leave a trail of wisp in their wake, so their path would be illuminated.

When they entered the tunnel, the corridor was well lit. There were probably very few people who knew this existed, let alone people that ran the park. It wasn't dusty, and someone was doing some up-keeping as of late. In the distance of the tunnel, there were grinding noises and then suddenly nothing. A hissing sound happened from time to time, and there was movement as a long shadow appearing here and there down the tunnel.

MantleSonnie did not answer Titania's whispered questions. She was focused on the noises coming from further down the tunnel, and the flickering shadows. The monkey crept forward, staff in hand, to try and get a look at the source of the movement. While she was sneaky enough, Sonnie was not terribly perceptive when she needed to be, despite her magically enhanced senses. Perhaps the shadows were playing tricks on her?
