Kaze looks a little shaken as the duel begins. He understand, in theory that Alastor's purpose is to press the Councillor, to test him, and that the Councillor is a Master, but Kaze has not ever seen the First Talon bested, at anything! This may be a first!

"Very Good", he says aloud. Campanella's proficiency in the arcane was impressive, and unsurprisingly Alastor had been pushed on the defensive, managing nevertheless to avoid several good blows. No matter who won at this point, the two of them had proven themselves to be more than capable. In a duel, at least.

Langdon nods to Winter in agreement then awe creeps onto and overtakes Langdon's face as he watches the duel. The manifestations of Arcana and the way it is wielded. To see even a glimpse of what this world could be. What records does the Mysterium hold of past duels? Sounds like an interesting thing to read up on.

Images flickering, fading and shifting through Space as the Mastigos turned and folded the psychic world of the Squared Circle in whatever direction he wanted. It was something akin to a fighter pilot, spinning and hurtling through the air around the tracer fire of anti-aircraft fire. Campanella's blasts were dodged and evaded, ducked and avoided --
-- until the one that wasn't, which tagged the evasive Mastigos high in the shoulder, spinning him around and sending him staggering. The Circle faded. Clearly, the Arrow wasn't going to make this physical. It was a test of wills, not of murder.
"Nice shooting!"
There was a Victor, triumphant. Sweat pouring down his face and panting from exhaustion, the Arrow extended a hand for a shake. A tired grin was on his face. "You're tricky as hell. Great work. If you lead as well as you Duel, then we're in good hands. Congratulations... Heirarch."
So acknowledged, the Arrow staggered to his backpack to find his water bottle.

Phoenyx watched the fight eagerly, quite literally spellbound. It was incredible to watch a seasoned fighter and Master of the Art lock horns, and it showed in the spellwork, the forcing back...
"Awesome."
But still, noble. Honorable.
The Obrimos walks over to the Lead Talon, and gives him a friendly punch on the arm. Probably a little harder than is friendly, but she really doesn't seem to notice. "That was wicked. Good going." Slowly she makes her way towards Campenella, and bows from her shoulders. "Heirarch. I meant what I said. The Arrows will follow, and watch over the Consillium." Reaching into her coat pocket she pulls out a decorated red envelope, covered in gold dragons, birds and stars, and hands it to him. "It's a li xi. Normally these are given at New Year, for luck. But, I think this counts." She gives him a small smile. "Good Fortune, Hierarch." Phoenyx slips away to the side of the room, and continues watching over the assembled Mages.

The Duel was over and the stronger will had emerged. The Guardian was satisfied. He clapped his hands, offering a nod to both duelists.
"And so shall it be. A new Hierarch arises. May his judgement never lead him astray", he said, "Congratulations" ,with a flick of his fingers the white flames abated, the circle was gone.

Kaze nods respectfully towards Alastor and Councillor, no Hierarch Campanella. He looks thoughtful, and even troubled.
"Goddamn"
Shodan blurts out, speechless at the intensity of the duel. Out of two non-ideal outcomes, the Master of Fossils is undoubtedly the better one, and so the Prime Mover nods appreciatively.
"You feel like doing an Oval Office address... Hierarch Campanella?" he asks curiously. It'd be good to hear what the Moros has in mind for this community.

An honorable Duel was art in motion. Each gave his all, but Campy? You could tell he wanted this, you could see the passion in his movements.
Then it was over. Campanella victorious. Not that she had any doubts.
She offers a smile and nod of her head, "Congratulations Hierarch." a hint of pride in her voice. The best mage for the job had won, and she knew they were in good hands.
The Consilium was now complete. They had what they had always needed, a leader and order. It would only serve to help them defeat their enemies.
