Mable needed to be away. The questions, the interrogation had become too much for her. Bringing back the feelings she thought she had buried. On her way through the yard she grabbed a shovel. She knew what she needed to do. The only way to end these feelings was to work through them. Tonight, was not a night to go to the boxing gym, she might kill someone if she did.

Mable hiked through the dark woods. First stop would be the Old Historical Cemetery to get some saplings she had in a back lot. She got to the cemetery and used her key to get in. She slipped silently to the rear where the chapel was. She stood at the door debating. She could go in this entrance and go to Davis’s haven. She knew how to get there. Krieg’s words echoed in her mind, he said be careful. Going underground alone was not being careful.

Shaking her head, she went to the lot behind the chapel and gathered two saplings. They were a little heavy, but she had her emotions spurring her on. She carefully locked up the gate and carried the saplings to the woods. At the sacred grove she carefully set down the little trees. Next, she hiked down to the little pond. Near by were a few small trees that were growing a bit too close to the water. She dug up the three trees and brought them to the grove.

Nodding at the trees she began to dig five holes equally spaced apart. She planted each tree. After the dirt was carefully packed down, Mable took the shovel and dug the dirt from tree to tree making a pentacle. She then dug a circle around the pentacle and trees. When she was done, she laid the shovel down near a stump. Cutting her palm, she dropped blood onto each tree, “May your souls be at peace.” She added blood to the center of the pentacle. She knelt down and asked the goddess for forgiveness.

She could see the sky changing color. No time to go anywhere. She allowed herself to meld into the earth. Becoming one with the earth felt good. The Warden of the Sacred Grove could rest easy here, in one of her havens.
