Telephone calls. A big hit had gone down, the Mafia smashing the everliving shit out of Giuseppe's upstart gang and the out-of-towners that had tried to cut in on their turf. Fucked 'em right up, there under that bridge, in a whirlwind of fire and bullets. Sure, some of La Famiglia had fallen. That happened in gang wars. They'd be remembered.
What mattered beyond the lives taken and the turf solidified is what had flowed from it.
Diego Pinzon was an associate of Yusuf. His body surely had been found. Giuseppe was dead. But so were a bunch of other Italians. Lina figured he'd blend right in with the other dead, the Made Man having died alongside his soldiers.
It was a lot of good stuff. A lot of speculation about a lot of violence in a northern territory that Lina hoped would combine with Clara Verne's efforts to muster up some Gang Task Force movement north. Speculation, however, wasn't worth shit. She needed to know, and knowing meant it w was time to touch base with ol' Tony, with Johnny Law. Law in particular had given a great tip the last time, and she hoped his line was still open.
The big question on her mind?
What had changed in the underworld and the world of the police in the wake of the destruction of the buy.
6 sux!! from Johnny Law, 1 sux from Tony
