    A ruined car.

    An exsanguinated body.

A pair of resourceful Kindred, trying to catch two poachers on the loose in the city.

There was more to be done. Help could be acquired, but first, they had to get rid of this obvious crime scene of a car.

How would they do away with this vehicle, with this corpse?

So base options for doing away with the body would be the use of a Merit, or using Wits + Streetwise (in town) or Wits + Survival (out of town) to find a place to get rid of the body. You could use Medicine and some Vitae to jury-rig the corpse so it wasn't such an obvious Masquerade breach, if you wanted. Social merits in Criminals would allow for a chop shop to get rid of the car easily. Social merits of 3+ would be required in appropriate spheres for the corpse to be dealt with.

If you're feeling creative, let me know what you'd like to do.

After being safely away from the bloody mess, Mable turned her mind to other pressing matters. "Are you alright?" She asked Rebecca.

"I was thinking we could try and get this car and body into one of the fire zones. Or I could just dump the whole thing, after staging the body is the driver's seat, into one of the bog areas in the forest." She glanced at Rebecca, "What do you think?"

That. Just. Happened. Out of all the things that happened Rebecca was most frustrated that the poachers were now on the run, and with Mable throwing the girl under the bus they would not be quite as friendly as before, despite the two of them cleaning up one of the pair's messes. Rebecca turned to Mable as she spoke and said, "I'm okay. No injuries." She was thankful for that. The two of them had played the unknowing helpless young damsels quite well and it had worked out.

Then Mable laid out a plan on how to dispose of the body and it became immediately clear that this was not an area of expertise for the Gangrel. Rebecca imagined that she had far more experience with creating the bodies than she did with erasing the bodies. After listening to Mable's plan Rebecca put her hand to her chin and thought. "I actually might have a better idea if you don't mind. I currently have a fairly large warehouse that I plan on using for business. It's fairly remote and has plenty of space for the vehicle. What I'd suggest is we take the car there, cut the body into pieces, and then place the body in one of my large stainless steel pressurized vats. We mix in a quantity of water and lye and heat the vat to approximately 300 degrees fahrenheit, turning the whole mixture into a molten mass of lye. Within three or four hours we'll have only mini bone shards that we can easily crush or flush down the drain. It will be as if they never existed. Then, after the heat from the whole incident dies down I can call one of my contacts to take the car away. How does that sound?" Morbid sure, but Rebecca was nothing if not efficient.

A mixture of relief and ewww flooded through Mable at Rebecca's suggestion. "That sounds wonderful. How do we get there?"

As it turns out, it wasn't hard. Rebecca was remarkably streetwise, her talent for back streets and covered alleys allowing them to quietly move the stolen, damaged car across the city to her warehouse without difficulty. Sure, sirens played out in the night - far away, undoubtedly to respond to the fallen police officers' calls for help.

But their damaged vehicle made it away, scot-free - undoubtedly an advantage paid for with the lives of four of Sacramento's finest. Sliding into the warehouse where Rebecca surreptitiously kept her laboratory, the Kindred set the bloodless corpse out on a plastic sheet. Efficient use of Claws made carving up a human being so, so simple. Where once there was a body, there were now hunks of human, separated. Legs. Arms. Torso. Head.

The Harpy wasn't whistling while she was working, but her distance from Humanity was apparent as she went about her work with the cold efficiency of a professional. However, something in Mable Wood threatened to die that day. Dismembering a corpse was so, so far outside her frame of normal experience, and the Beast craved this.

Hunks were tossed in a vat. Lye was added, then water and heat, bringing the noxious, corrosive mix to a boil, dissolving evidence, dissolving flesh, dissolving a human being's remains.

It took time. Time that Mable Wood spent in part thinking about what she had chosen to be a part of. Time her Beast spent rattling against the bars of its cage even as the chemicals washed away the sins of the night.

The body is cleanly eliminated from play. The Allies will dispose of the car at a chop shop, removing it from being an issue. Rebecca Simmons' Humanity is too low for this to effect her; Mable Wood , please roll 4 dice against Humanity loss. If you fail, roll your new Humanity as a pool to determine if you get a Derangement.

While the body was cooking, Mable cleaned up and found a cold dark corner of the warehouse to sit in. She felt as cold inside as the warehouse floor. She pulled her knees up to her chest and wrapped her arms around her legs. It was supposed to just be a night out. She had even briefly considered at the beginning of the night going against her beliefs and possible making a ghoul.

Now she wonders why any of that matters. Some fine police officers were dead. She would have to check in with her friend soon to hear about that. Though they were to meet tomorrow evening before work for coffee, she would hear about it then. Two poachers were now on the loose and pissed. Well she was even more pissed at them, idiots. The masquerade had almost been breached. And she had put the Harpy in danger because she didn't drive well enough.

But, a small smile. But, she managed somehow to not have a masquerade breach. She and Rebecca had come out unharmed. The police will have died heroes. And the poachers, they may be pissed but Mable had warned them to protect Rebecca at all costs. And they had been the ones in the wrong, not Mable. The smile grew. Mable didn't even feel it happen but somewhere inside of her a little more of that humanity she had been clinging to with every fiber of her being, faded away.

Now was the time to pray to the goddess and thank her for her divine protection. Mable promised to plant a tree in honor of each police officer who died to keep her safe.

Despite her Catalyst, Rebecca found herself deeply at peace as she worked. Peace as they chopped up the body. Peace as she mixed the corrosive chemical with the water. Peace as she patiently watched the body liquefy. Peace as the car was taken and erased from their lives. As Rebecca sanitized the vat and swept up the last remaining remnants of where the car once was, the lab now appearing as if they had never arrived, she felt at peace.

Then her eyes landed on Mable. In the corner. Her knees to her chest.

Rebecca was no longer at peace.

Part of the Doctor was proud of what she had done. She had felt useless with the body in the alley, and other than distracting Jones, completely and utterly useless with the police. But here she was at her best. This was where she could truly shine. They had a body and car and through her knowledge and skill she made them disappear like a grotesque David Copperfield performance. She looked around her and was truly proud of the professional work she had done.

But another part of her was ashamed. She had slowly but surely gotten to know Mable since she had arrived, and to Rebecca the Priscus appeared to be one of the purest Kindred she had ever met. Sure it could have been an act before, but what she saw now in front of her confirmed it: Rebecca had tainted something truly extraordinary. She had taken part in the corruption of Mable's very soul and for that she was not at peace. For that she was not proud.

Her Sire had always taught her that they were the gatekeepers of their emotions. That none should see or know the inner secrets of their hearts. Rebecca did not believe what she saw before her was a show of any kind, but a true display of her feelings. It made her deeply uncomfortable to watch. That was why, without a single word, Rebecca walked over to Mable and just stood against the wall. Not speaking. Not looking. Just allowing her to be. Allowing Mable to pretend that for the moment she was alone. That she had not revealed anything to Rebecca. And that is where Rebecca would stay, not speaking, unless the not-so-Savage wanted otherwise.

Mable opened her eyes. Seeing Rebecca standing there she gave her a warm smile. "Hi. Do you need help cleaning up?" Mable got up and looked around, "Oh, I'm sorry. I should have helped to clean up."

Rebecca offered Mable a soft smile. "No. All the cleaning is done, but thank you." She tilted her head, watching the Gangrel. "If you're ready, we should go look for the poachers. Who knows what kind of trouble they got themselves into." She didn't want to push too hard, but time was of the essence.

    There was an opportunity.

An opportunity to call appropriate contacts, to get leads. No doubt, the police would be swarming the place to try to get the motherfuckers who had blown away their brothers in blue.

An opportunity to call in backup. These poachers were obviously dangerous, even if their hunger was gnawing at them, even if the sharp-eyed gal's wounds were serious.

It wasn't an endless opportunity, but there it was, dangling before them like a prize...

If you want to use social merits or add additional Kindred to this plot, now is the time. Allies/Contacts are Manipulation + Persuasion + Allies/Contacts rating. Just let me know who you call and I'll narrate the next scene.
