Word trickled down, as it often did through the shady back channels through which Kindred moved. Tugs on the webs; people looking for people or places or things. A quiet word of conflict between shadowy groups in the night. A whispered need for leverage, a way to upset the balance that kept the city on an even keel. A silent letter to a Dona from a concerned member of the famiglia.

And for a few Kindred in the Domain of Sacramento, an opportunity to please a Prince, who had quietly let it be known that this was something she cared to know about. Word had come of an arms deal. Rumour had it that the well-known pair of gunrunners, going by the aliases "Juan and Juanita Garcia", were coming to town - and they weren't selling to the Italians that ran this motherfucker.

No, they were selling to the Mexicans, the ones connected to a cartel. Third rate, but with enough firepower? It could flip this whole thing on its head.

Wars between clans were nothing new. Ffion could remember many, and she knows she had forgotten many more, but wars between clans-gangs, in this modern field, serpentine streets, with landmarks of glass and concrete would be something new. She would learn the field of her new home, as well as gain favour of the Prince....

Her contacts and allies are limited within Sacramento, only having been within the city a short time, and her wafting aroma never helps, but persistence...she hoped, would aid her in this.

Ashley spent the time working over the connections she held in Arms. Liquid assets were plentiful for the Lord and it was nothing to inject some cash into the grand scheme of things to get the ball rolling on the information. Ashley still did not know what angle she would work from, as the situation held many unknown variables. Still this situation held plenty of potential for opportunity.

Floki is using CRIMINALS to try to find information on Juan and Juanita. Floki is using JUDICIAL (any open cases, any defense attorneys representing the cartel, etc) and STREET to find out about the Cartel and their presence in Sacramento (names, locations, enemies/grudges, etc).

The not-so-gentle Savage Prince had made it known that people were pushing in on the Italian arms trade, quietly signaling her own association with the gun runners.

Blackbird was still fairly new to Sacramento, but there was a benefit to hailing from nearby San Jose. Proximity...

A sly smile crossed the little bird's lips as brought up her phone. It was time to make a few moves... prove her worth. Maybe even start prodding away those less capable. And the best way available right now was to find out who Juan and Juanita really were. More importantly, she needed to know who they were selling to.

For the Prince's interest... and her own.

Rebecca's world was the criminal, and if something was happening that could affect the Prince within it, she wanted to know. She reached out to her allies in the Criminal and Police world to find out what they knew. Someone had to know something about where the deal was going down.

Spiders touched their webs in the night, rousing people and phoning them at their late night desks to ask their questions. Rebecca Simmons' police allies had no idea about an arms deal going down; they do now, but they are also able to provide a photograph of the suspects from INTERPOL. Apparently, these two individuals are quite wanted:

The "Good Doctor's" friends and Blackbird's friends in the underworld agree on some things, in amidst dismissable drivel. Money talks, and the Doctor has plenty; Blackbird's friends are actually reliable. Both learn that the deal is allegedly taking place at an abandoned barn just west of Sacramento. The house had long since burned, but the barn stood. Blackbird heard a little extra: the local Mexican gang was hiring added security. This was important, to make sure nobody interfered. Her insider whispered that the weapons were supposedly military grade assault rifles, grenades, and all manner of other nasty shit with which to make war.

Ffion's friends had no idea about where an arms deal would take place. But in amidst the conspiracy theories and memes being thrown around, they knew about the shady barn from outside of town too, the online community whispering in shadows about a murder most foul having taken place in the burned out farmhouse. Arson, they said, from back in the 90's that never got solved. Someone had picked up the illfated property a few years back. Property searches revealed it was someone named Diego Martinez, a businessman. Quick research on this individual reveals that they actually have rather legitimate credentials, including an MBA from Yale.

Please let me know if there are any other rolls or preparatory steps you folks would like to make. Your characters have one preparatory 'night' left after your first rolls.
