"Devil Dogs, mutants, aliens, cryptids, demons...Really?" Ashley gave a quizzical look along with a playful giggle. "I guess there can be some strange stuff out there..." Ashley shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know though...that would be like...believing in witches, werewolves and vampires..."
Ashley glanced to the hipster with a nod. "I think cryptids is a good term though...really just a 'what the fuck?'"

The bar keep puts on a surprised face.
"Oh we're not exactly in Old Sacramento now. This place is actually a little ways to the north, under the railway tracks. Jibboom Street is just over there." Pointing to the space above the Quiet Zone. "And I Street Bridge is south... down that way." Pointing vaguely to a space beyond the entrance.
"This little spot is unofficial Old Sacramento. You won't find it on the official maps. You gotta go digging in the city archives for these tunnels. Like I said, Bruce... Is friends with lots of people."
A frown and a shake of the head.
"Crypto's? Not my thing, friend. All seems a bit far fetched to me. But Bruce? Man, he breathes that shit. Again, don't go there, man. I tell you. You'll end up getting sucked into his games. I've seen it."
A pause.
"Ronnie G and Brucie? Not sure who is feeding off of who. Ronnie G is a local. So... I guess Brucie is coming into his turf. Uh... I think Brucie may be more hard core than this Ronnie G dude. Seen 'em together before. And they were okay. Last few occasions and it was like Ronnie G was scared or nervous about something Brucie here was doing? This time, Ronnie tried too hard and got the boot. I bet he'll be back."
In the Quiet Zone, Jerry Games leers smugly.
"Oh that isn't just animal blood. Its been spiced up with good shit. Awesome shit. Magic shit! And I'll have you know that is a professional secret." The man positively purred, reached over and popped one of the rice balls into his mouth. Still smirking, he finished another roll (the last of the witches hair) and handed it to Lina Moretti . The spliff twirled in his dextrous fingers.
"Let it float in your nasal passages for best effect," he added with a more serious note.
Buoyed by Game's example, one of his sycophants took another one of the 'rice balls' in a show of flippant bravado. The ex-model noticed and pandered to the sycophant's fragile ego. But his eyes - his eyes were on Lina still.
And in the spaces beyond the Quiet Zone, in abandoned and tunnels deliberately forgotten with the sanction of the city fathers, a little clique snorts in surprise.
"Oh yes. Certainly much what the fuckery. I still find it hard to accept how much what the fuckery exists out there." Sinister Hipster admits.
Daphne doesn't say anything, perhaps surprised or put off by the others tone.
"They exist. Not like Hollywood. Not like Bram Stoker. But they exist." East European was deadly serious. "Don't make fun of prey. Respect it or you die."
A professional secret. Of course it was, Jerry. But he was her best chance to meet Harcourt, so she accepted the spliff in her fingers. The lighter came up. The Dragon clung to her Coil, flicking the lighter as she had a thousand thousand times, lighting the hair, letting the Vitae flow to her passages to allow herself a natural reaction as she took a hit...
"Awesome," she purred, smirking over at Game, like she loved this shit, the smoke trailing out from the end just so. "So... Jerry, what's it gonna take to get you to introduce me to the host? Because drugs are cool, but I want to meet some people."
She offered him the spliff, like offer and acceptance. Take it, and take her to meet their host.

Davis smiled at the bartender. Raised his glass. "Well, don't let me sit here gabbing with you man. The night is young as are these fine ladies. It's a party and so am I." Davis places a $20 bill on the bar. "For you my man! And here." He places another $20 on the bar. "Enjoy the night yourself. Have a drink, pick up some tail, and PAAARRRRTTTTAAAAYYYY. Excuse me I'm on the hunt for a Fox and I am on to her scent. OOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLLLLL!!!"
Davis leaves the bar and when engulfed in the crowd out of view of the bartender he hands the untouched drink to a random female passing by. "Here, on the house, enjoy."
Free of the encumbrance of beverage, Davis slips off toward the Quiet Zone.

Jerry Game grinned wickedly as he took the spliff.
"Well take my hand and we'll go and introduce you..."
As for the spliff itself? The effect was disappointing. It burned quickly and left a tinny aftertaste. A mild euphoria tickled at the Dragon's consciousness but did not invade it. Perhaps it was something about being dead; perhaps the Blood was simply impervious to this sort of thing; perhaps it was all placebo. Game himself appeared to have caught the buzz, but he could have been playing along for his sycophant's benefit for all she knew.
Jerry Game led Lina away and hunted down Bruce Harcourt. They found him on the dance floor...
Where Bruce is none too pleased to find himself ambushed by Jerry Game.
John Davis is in motion as well. He moves from the main area into the Quiet Zone, passing Lina Moretti as she escorted away by Jerry Game. Davis, however, was looking for tunnels*. He finds the bat symbols and following them, he finds the northern alcove that turns out not be an alcove but an entrance into the wider tunnel network. Things fall into place for the intrepid Daeva explorer, who can now locate the Party Den in relation to the "unofficial" tunnels where he came across the Plague Cat.
Of course, his actions are not without incident. Along the way he bumps into Ashley Cohen and her confederates, who are in a state of confusion. Jethro the Sinister Hipster and Daphne the Trophy Wife are both left flat footed when Alexander the East European mutters a curse and disappears into the tunnels. The Sinister Hipster can only pout in agitation; Daphne can only stare, open mouthed, and attempts to recover her poise with a pose daring Davis to say something. Of course, anything else Ashley Cohen might wish to discuss was sunk.
*Making some assumptions here as I attempt to wrap the scene quickly. We are over the month mark and I think its time to move forward before everything grinds to a halt
