    Samael gave Winter a call and invited him out for a game of billiards. By 10:45 PM most of the clientele had gone home. It was these night owls who were ready to play.

    Dark shadows scatter in ordered symmetrical patterns traversed by a crackling pallid silver light that wraps Winter in a pleasantly numbing and icy coldness.
    When vulgar magic is cast, the frequency of the oscillation of the dark fluid surges until the shadows arrange themselves in a solid black halo around Winter's head, the white light darkens into a fiery black sunlight and his eyes are set ablaze with vivid incandescence.

    He wasn't the most likeable fellow, so when he received a call from the Mastigos, he knew they weren't going to exchange pleasentries but information. The Mustang bolted into the night quickly bringing his driver to destination. The man had dressed casually for the occasion, trying to fit in with the clientele.
    Put his litany of magical contingencies past, the man stepped inside the building, noticing his acquaintance standing in the far right corner of the room, a good place for a private conversation, away from prying ears or disturbances. Two, was the sign he gave the bartender sticking his fingers up, bring the house best, as he joined his peer.

    Samael wore a grey polo and jeans. He smiled to Winter, "Thank you for joining me," he greeted the Guardian cheerfully. "How have you been?" he asked as he handed the pool cue to him.

    "Each day provides its own gifts", was his stoic reply. "Thanks", he moved a few feet away from the table as to not stain the surface, there he tilted the cue and began chalking its tip with a deliberate brushing motion, slowly rotating the cue, careful to not drill a hole inside the chalk. "What about you?", he said absentmindedly and without looking up.
    "There", he said returning the chalk, its colored side facing upwards.

    The Warlock nodded, "I like that. Healthy perspective to have." After Winter finished chalking up, he applied the blue cube to his cue. "I have been well, as good as it can be. I'm teaching night classes at Drexel University." He lifted the cube off the tip, rotating the cue to examine his work. "I look forward to shaping young minds." He set the chalk down. "Watching them learn to think for themselves is the most rewarding experience."

    He stepped aside and bowed lightly with an open hand. "You first, good sir."

    "I'm glad", he said. The Mastigos was talking in codes. "Affords the chance to induct new interns into our Company", he paused for a second, "hopefully of better quality than the last batch"

    A certain skill at billiard marks a gentleman, to play too well however is the sign of a misspent youth. What's billiard, after all, if not a tridimensional rendition of the game of life?
    Every experience contained between a bunch of colored balls and some holes, a billiard table has seen more than a doctor's.

    "Nine-ball?", he asked.

    He gripped the cue loosely with his thumb doing the lifting while the rest of his fingers enclosed the cue, his right wrist pointed downward to better angle the break shot. The Mastigos had apparently forfeited the chance of going first.

    "Quite so," Samael nodded in agreement. "It appears that their teachers are simply doing the bare minimum. It's thoroughly disappointing." He shrugged with a 'what can one do?' gesture. "I have plans to institute a proper education out here."

    As Winter offered the nine ball, he smiled, "Sure." He watched the man's technique with curiosity. He had the angle right. Would it work though?

    "The only teacher that can address the recklessness of youth is Life itself, I'm afraid", he rested the cue ball just off the outside rail, keeping the cue leveled, he aimed for the 1, hitting squarely a moment later.
    Not the best break shot, but not too shabby either.

    He couldn't help but chuckle at Winter's response. "Are you sure that we didn't answer to the same calling?" he winked at Obrimos. "Yes, I agree, the burned hand teaches best."

    Samael lined up a shot. The balls bounced around the table. He had as much luck as Winter did. "Anything interesting happening among your department?"
