Circe and others of the Circle of the Crone have finished last-moment preparation for Court. Within the main area of the old temple, the artworks of various Kindred are on display, carefully arranged so as to be presented at their best. She is rather disappointed how few have chosen to present their works, but has taken pains to make the most of what she has to work with.

She has given a prominent spot to a painting done by Regina Pia. Its a large painting of a river scene that is placed horizontally on a table, about three feet off the ground, so it can be viewed from a above. Her painting is extremely heavy, and contains dozens of layers of paint, such that is perfectly creates a view of the river's edge, with the elevation changes being represented in decent scale as taller sections on the painting itself. (so the painting has +/- 3 inches of height differences between things. This goes beyond texture, the layers of paint adding sculpture elements to the painting.

Another table features a selection of items whittled from wood by Konstantin. Most are small figures of animals - hawks, eagles, wolves, a crocodile, lions and several bears - but there are a few larger pieces, including a rattlesnake nearly four feet long, whittled from a twisted bit of driftwood. There are also two knife handles, lacking the blades so as to fall within the rules of Elysium. One of these is also styled on a snake, the head of the snake acting as a pommel, while the other is a figure of a leopard, crouched low as if preparing to spring. The work is astonishingly fine, incorporating scale and hair texture, all rough edges having been filed and sanded down. The knife handles are stained and laquered.

The main gallery area also holds a variety of small sculptures created by Circe, as well as some larger works done by a former member of the Circle who had either left the area unexpectedly, or simply vanished. The larger works are a variety of human-size gargoyles, carved in granite. These are in different stages of completion, some still rough, but Circe had decided to include those ones as well, to show creation as a process and display works in various stages of completion as a way of highlighting that process. The smaller sculptures, done in marble, are Circe's own works. Each is labeled, and all depict goddesses and other female figures from Greek mythology: Athena in a fighting pose with shield and spear; Demeter standing in a field of wheat with a tree nearby; Hecate at a crossroads, conjuring the spirits of the dead; Atalanta slaying the Calydonian boar. A somewhat larger piece depicts Persephone in gown with a long train, walking through a forest. At the far end of the train, the trees are vibrant, but leaves fall from the ones closer to the goddess, while the last ones, as she takes the first steps downward into the Underworld, are bare.

The walls of the gallery area are also decorated. Cassandra's drawings are placed prominently, but also hanging upon the walls are a number of wooden masks Circe has made, also featuring mythological and goddess themes. There is a full-face one of Athena in half-helm; one of Pesephone again, crowned by spring fllowers on one side, withered leaves on the other; one of Artemis, painted with leopard spots reflecting her role as huntress and goddess of beasts; and one of snake-haired Medusa. The masks are finely carved, colorfully painted and carefully laquered.

Two kindred in suits are there to greet the guests: Scott Portman, a Mekhet, waits just outside the doors, ready to remind any who might need reminding of the rules regarding weapons and Disciplines within Elysium, and a muscled, pugilistic-looking Nosferatu named Vic. These two, survivors of the Lost Nights, have served this role at other Courts in the past.

Just inside the doors waits Circe. She wears a low-cut, midnight blue gown, her silver moon earrings and the Grecian sandals she usually wears, as well as a silver pendant, set with garnets and obsidian, styled in the form of the symbol of the Circle of the Crone. Her hair is tied atop her head in an elaborate style such as one sees in some ancient Grecian artworks. She wears a bit of make-up - dark red lipstick, some shadow to emphasize her eyes - but has done nothing to hide the alabaster paleness of her skin. With her classical beauty and her dark hair and eyes, Circe's appearance is not unlike that of some of the goddesses portrayed in her artworks.

She readily awaits those others who were supposed to arrive early, and the first guests of the evening.

Jayant had arrived especially early to prepare for Court, cleaning away any dust or cobwebs that may have accumulated since he was last here. When finished, Jayant looked to make sure that the stage was set for any performances at the head of the temple, and that there was suitable seating in the form of the pews. Any works of art had been given the required space around the interior, a circle of achievements to demonstrate their creator's ideals and musings.

One such piece was the memorial that Jayant had been tasked to create in honour of the three lost Crone members; Mako, Valencia and the previous Hierophant, Paresh Williams. The memoriam was on a stone alter with a single item placed upon it to represent each in turn; Valencia's old teddy, Nagilum. Mako's ugly yet functional club. Master William's ostentatious snake-headed cane. He placed them upon the altar so they rested before the paintings he had found, created by Little V. Jayant had tacked them to the wall so they overlooked the altar. One final piece was in the centre of the memoriam; the metal statue of Shiva, the Hindu God of Transformation.

One last glance around the temple and he was set. Heading out to his van, Jayant slipped on the jacket that Michael had purchased on his behalf, quite proud of the fit. When he returned, he greeted Circe.

"Good evening, Hierophant. I hope everything is as you expected?"

"All is well, loyal Naga," Circe says, using Jayant's Circle title out of earshot of others. "The sound system and lighting are in order. Callie's friends did a good job of setting that up. I am considering bringing them into service, just as she serves us."

Victoria hated arriving this early, but in order to make sure she accomplished her job she had to be there before the others arrived. She spent a great deal of time making sure that she was perfectly attired for the formal function. In attendance with her was the large man that is seen almost everywhere she goes. He wore a charcoal gray 3 piece suit, a black shirt and a red tie that matched the color of Victoria's lipstick. His face was an expressionless mask and he stared strait ahead without appearing to notice anything.

As she walked in the temple her skin almost crawled. The idea of being in a temple associated with those blood witches in the Circle was disturbing. She stopped near the entrance and looked around to see who was present.

Jayant nodded to Circe's suggestion but his mind was taken by the sudden Beast that beset his own, an equal apparently. His Naga hissed in its nest and the Mekhet had to quell it with soothing thoughts. Turning to face the new arrival, Jayant grins openly.

"Good evening, and welcome. I am Jayant Nagaraj, a pleasure to meet you."

Sean O'Neill arrives early as well. From the looks of it he's been shopping and is dressed well, if not formally. He wears black pants, matching shoes, and a black silk shirt with a red tie. No coat, though. He actually looks pretty fly.

Notably, the skin of his head, face, and hands sports prominent burn marks, and blisters.

He walks up to Circe and Jayant, grinning "Evening, Hierophant." He nods to Jayant "Naga."

"The place looks good," he says, gesturing around at the temple.

Arnold Culler arrives, dressed sharply in a navy Brooks Bros suit, with matching fedora, and Cordovan leather shoes. He nods to Vic as he enters, finding a place in the corner of the room where he can watch the door until everything gets started.

Aimée arrived on time - she was concerned about what had happened at the Invictus meeting and how she would be recieved now (Did the word spread? Am I in for another humiliating evening?), but arriving late would've been inpolite either way; besides, staying at home in fear of being humiliated was not only stupid, it was something the old Aimée would do. But those times are over now. Right, those times were over.

She approached the temple in an outfit that was specifically chosen to look as respectable as possible, while stil being chic: a knee-long black cocktail-dress without any notable cleavage; nothing a whore would wear, that's for sure.
Right before she entered she stopped, gathered herself and got in. Back into the shark infested waters that are Court..

Inside she noticed a few familiar faces, but apart from Sean there was noone she really talked to yet and even Sean was busy talking to.. Circe, Aimée recalled. Aimée remembered her from the last Courts, she was in charge of the Circle. She nodded at everyone politely on her way to Sean, Circe and somebody she didn't knew yet (or couldn't quite remember) and once she arrived, she smiled politely, waited for an opportunity to speak and adressed the Host of the evening.
"Good evening Hierophant Circe, I hope I am not disturbing your conversation, but I wanted to thank you and your Convenant for hosting today's evening." She turned shortly to Sean to greet him, before turning to the unknown Kindred and extending a hand. "Good evening, I suppose we haven't had the pleasure. I'm Aimée."
Well, that hopefully wasn't a faux pas right away..

Regina enters, and bows to the High Priestess.

"High Priestess Circe, Mother of Monsters, I am honored that you have displayed my piece so prominently. You do me a great honor." She curtsies, power is power, and hierophants bleed power. Damn witches.

She is wearing the outfit that Michael procured for her, 18th century ladies warm weather dress. She marvels at the other artwork, and smiles smugly at seeing Konstantin's work. She did not know he was a Player as well. The Invictus were well represented as contributors to this court. As it should be. They had the power to have enough leisure time to make these rather impressive works.

    Dr. Ith Lazarus

Warden Ith Lazarus of the First Estate arrived to the November Court in a hurry. His typical attire was, for the most part, absent -- this time replaced by the most generous Carthian Movement. The Doctor remembered back to Michael's visit to the asylum and how he seemed so against the standard lab-coat and office attire. Regardless, the outfit came from the pocketbook of the disgraceful Carthians by edict of Prince Clarke so Lazarus forced himself to wear it. The whole ensamble was uncomfortable and he did not like its feel at all; the way it moved with him seemed to work entirely against him unlike his usual clothing. His infamous expressionless mask and long unclean black hair remained in their usual place, however.

    This had better be quick.

    Dr. Lazarus' attire

Dr. Lazarus, just like in October's court, quickly spotted Lord Culler and approached him immediately. He had no time for this arts and crafts nonsense that plagued this hall like vermin. The Doctor spoke in a hushed tone as to not be overheard, "If you have a moment, I have discovered information regarding the Lost Nights -- perhaps the location of Priscus O-Yama."

    Mairsil Petrov

Stand upright, Mairsil, you are about to be among your peers.

Mairsil arrived to court in a hurry, his brand new Italian suit fitting him quite well. The cufflinks were a nice touch, and to him it was clear that the Carthian Movement went the extra step in choosing to purchase them as well. He made a point to find the Prefect and thank him for the purchase.

It is only right to show gratitude.

For now Mr. Petrov decided it would be best to stay back and wait to be approached. There were several faces in the room who he had not encountered yet and he did not want to place undue stress on his beast. Approaching a large painting of a river, Mairsil began to examine it closely taking in the ambiance of the piece.

Aesop entered the old Crone temple instantly leary of his surroundings due to the altercation he had with an errant spirit there. Dropping his Protean took an act of will not of choice, he was more naked then if he was not wearing clothes at all. Though rudimentary he wore the exact same outfit that he attended the previous Elysium, blue jeans, and boots, the only difference was that now he was missing the index finger on his right hand. He walked within arms reach of all the kindred that were in the room currently then nodded to each of them in turn, giving each person indivudual attention. He then attempted to blend into the scenary. He detested events such as these and the moment that he felt he fulfilled his obligations to the Crone he would escape this place. Apex predators tended not to gather due to the complications of there nature, so it was true with kindred, forced interaction between predators was a bad idea... completely unnatural in his thinking.
