(Discovery Park) The King's Man

[Knot]

"You stopped time." Knot shakes his head, his mouth opening and closing like he's trying to fix a pressure differential in his eardrums. "Gaaaaah. Look at your phones, your watches. Before you threw it in, it was... I'm not sure, eating time? Like time was water leaking down a drain. When you threw the rock in, it stopped."

It was an awful, horrible description, he knew that. He also knew that the little awareness in the back of his head of the passing of time was stuck, whenever a second was supposed to tick over into the next one, it ticked back to the second that just passed. He knew there were spells that could do this, but they were far and away past what his skill in Time was at.

He chants, and unties a knot from some string that he pulls from a pocket, as he calls down a golden glyph to clue him in on the possible consequences of stepping through the... time portal.

Knot casts Momentary Flux with the intent on finding out if stepping through the rift is a good or bad or neutral choice

Banshee Ghosts are echos right? Or probably echos of a person? Except this looks like the same person. In different states of self at the time of death.

The circular leyline below the portal does not reveal anything to Winter as he scrutinizes it. Any photos of the hole through reality will show an open expanse of green grass lit from above. What can be assumed to be trees seem to encircle the space and a blond figure rests against the stone pillar. Anywhere that here and there would be side by side one is black. Close up it looks as if Winter were taking a photo of a picture against a black wall. Further away it looks like someone created an art piece of a black, almost light eating circle, hanging in a park.

Knot gets the distinct feeling that stepping through the portal would be equally a boon and a bane. Neither pressing over the other, instead resting side by side.

[Banshee]

Time? Banshee turns towards Knot who said something about Time.

"Time....the spectre I see, is one. Cycling through many instances of their demise. Variant versions of themselves." she explains coming closer to the others. "There is no overt instance of interaction, at least by the ghost. Clearly this abnormality is effecting it."

Her black painted lips tug into a smile, "Are we to venture forth?" corpse eyes sparkle with an unholy gleam, the unknown. Clearly before them, nothing is certain as to what might happen as they step forward. What might have happened to Langdon as he did the same...divinity distilled into possibility. Death had touched this place, the same as Time....would they find one, the other. Both? Banshee certainly wanted to find out.

[Winter]

"So, there's a guy on the other side", he holds his phone for the others to see. "It's some sort of ritual circle"

[Sand]

Correction is required.

"It wasn't me- it was ..." A gesture toward the Anomaly.

Already having seen the man, frowns at the Anomaly, allowing others to look at Winter's phone.

"So this is affecting more than the standard space-time continuum. It is also touching on ... whatever plane ghosts exist on."

Interpretation: Powerful. F'ing powerful.

"My current theory is that Langdon came upon this when it was in this state. It visually represents what he described. A portal leading to a park environment. Perhaps he is the man seen in it. My concern is that in the short time it took us to arrive, we found a different state."

"The rock triggered it back into what Langdon saw but that only tells me that at some point this portal will fall back into the mess we first saw. And when that happens... what occurs on the other side? Is there a law of reciprocity in effect? Are there limited times it can sustain opening and closing? Will the duration of open remain constant?"

A breath, a glance.

"Uh... boiled down. I'm all for going in but we have no idea how long this will stay open. Or if it is even open on the other side."

Which was actually already wrong. That assumed a passage of time... which Knot had effectively dismissed with his evaluation.

[Weavebreaker]

Weavebreaker bit her lip for a moment. She knew the thing had to be shut, and as soon as possible.

She tried to weigh the options. "Check phones for date and time."

"We step through, and let the GPS refresh and we should be able to compare the changes." Weavebreaker gave a shrug.

"I would like to think, we would step through and be five minutes ahead. The problem, though, is if that was the case, we would have heard back from Langdon." Weavebreaker crossed her arms. "It could be that on the other side, he is some place that doesn't have service..."

Weavebreaker let out a soft sigh. "There is another issue."

"It needs to be closed. I can definitely attempt to do so on this side, but it may be different on the other side." Weavebreaker was just going through potentials. "If this same phenomena is also on the other end, as in two locations at once. I could shut it. If this phenomena is only linking to that location while it is active, then we step through and would be stranded once it closed."

"Given that Langdon isn't here, that could be a possibility." Weavebreaker glanced down to the ground as she tried to work a solution.


"It may be best for me to stay here and start work to close this." Weavebreaker let out another sigh. "It would take some time, which means that if this does go some place into the future, you would be able to send me a message with more information, including stopping my efforts."

[Winter]

His fingers pinch the display. "A field surrounded by darkness", as the phone zooms on the black background, "Light can come out, so can space magic apparently. That guy could just be a decoy though"

He studies attentively the Arrow, then he speaks. "Send in a marionette, then we'll decide"

[Knot]

"All signs point... mixed results." Knot shakes his head. "But mixed isn't doom. And if you close it, you might trap Langdon wherever it leads. Well, and me."

And before anyone can stop him, Knot steps through the gateway.

[Banshee]

"But mixed might be doomed..." a haunting laugh as the Necromancer eager steps forward, after the Courageous Knot.

[Kelreth]

Banshee and Knot

It feels like a moment and it feels like hours but with a blink Knot and Banshee steps across to there. Clean air like something you can only feel far away from the sprawl of humanity slides past both of them. There is no sun, only a diffuse omnipresent light. There are no shadows. In front of the daring pair the place opens up. Trees form what may be an edge to the grassy clearing though grass can be seen well beyond the trees as well. At the center of a perfect circle of trees stands a stout stone pillar with the man resting against it.

Moments after Banshee and Knot step through the man raises a hand against the light. Then shakily pushes himself to his feet. "Thank the gods you're here!" He slowly waves a hand before leaning back against the stone. If either takes a glance behind them they see only open air between a pair of trees.

Everyone else

Banshee and Knot step through the portal with ease. Both stand illuminated by the clear light. In the distance the man seems to wave.
