Emily lashed out as the creature made a run for it. The blow was glancing, not enough to render the critter prone or unconscious, but definitely enough to slow it. Hector, snarling, hurled himself upon the Beshilu and wrestled it to a standstill.

The pair wrestled there, tearing up the ground. The Cahalith took a claw to the face, raking his cheek and squashing his nose. All but roaring, he stiffened his sinews and locked his form around the writhing monster, immobilising it slowly but surely.
