Ingrid is not done yet.

She continues to hold the wretched creature. She continues to cuddle and cradle. She starts offering soothing words of comfort, which are for the most part drowned out by the keening wassail. She does not let go.

"You are not alone." Quiet, simple, words.

Ingrid gets 1 success on the Psychotherapy roll (I forgot to include the Dream Intensity). Its a long shot but could help - even temporary fixes could help here! I threw in Ingrid's Specialty of "Lies" as well: her specialty will assist her cutting through the self deception of the dream - and it also reflects Ingrid saying what the dreamer wants to hear, rather than being a proper fix (Ingrid wants out, after all!)

Also - as HOPE is a counter to FEAR and might well act as a circuit breaker for the Nightmare, can Ingrid gain a full WP refresh for being a beacon of hope (holding the dreamer?) in this nightmare? Saber Sloth

Lucifer's paranoia has won out, she can tell, she knows that there is Poison here.

Ingrid's tactics while different, are noticed. The crowd boos! Roaring mightily, calling with every breath for the lions!

But for Ingrid and Quills, the metal on the bars flake, rusting. She clings and trills, "One, one, one! Here, here, here!" Ingrid knows she was heard. That it is working.

The crowd shifts once more, their cries for the lions are still present, but 'Claws', turns into 'Mouth' in their chants.

"Goaty and Mouth! Goaty and Mouth! Get after Rubber Girl and tear apart Quills!"

Lucifer knows there is Dream Poison present, she doesn't yet know where it resides.

[Lucifer]

"We have to get out!" Lucifer cried, her hauntingly discordant voice battling against the roar of the crowd. Panic fueling her limbs, Lucifer clawed her way back to her feet and ran towards the cage, desperate to close the distance, desperate for her voice to be heard.

"Ingrid!" Lucifer wailed! "THEY'VE BEEN HERE! The Dream...it's tainted! Poisoned by Them! They're hunting for us, we have to get out!"

Yet, even as the panic ate away at her, Lucifer knew that this poison sat somewhere within Sacramento, somewhere, waiting for them, and if they were to be truly safe then they would have to find it and, perhaps, destroy it. But the Fear would not be ignored, and her eyes were blind, her ears unhearing...

Ingrid felt the wretched creature shudder and heard the shift in its voice. The surge of confidence the Darkling felt drowned out the clamour of nightmare. The roar of the crowd seemed less a threat and more a cheer; the rage and terror of the other Lost was simply background noise. Frankly, the omnipresent threat of "Goat" and "Mouth" didn't even register.

There was a storm. She and the Wretch were in the middle of it.

So the Darkling clung on to the wretch, holding the being in what might have been a loving embrace. Her voice droned on like a calming prayer or benediction.

And hoped that the dreamer would soon wake.

The Darkling could only turn aside the intimidating roar for so long...

Penance's words a well chosen but fail to give impact to who they were meant too. Not over the roar of the crowd, not over the frenzied shrieks of the Aspirant Queen, especially not over the warm rolling safety of the Darkling's arms.

The cage that binds her loosens, metal flaking like cracked clay. She cries, joyous tears this time. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

The crowd around them roars out their displeasure, shaking the very foundations with their vigor, it does nothing, to hide the sound of the gate opening, however, and the feline roars of the long called for lions.

Or what had been called lions. They had the body of the beast, yes that was true. The middle of the three had great bat-like wings, each had serpentine tails, that hissed and spat venom on the blood clotted ground, and their faces, for they had faces. Identical upon each, wicked in beauty and horror both.

They roar in unison, calling for blood!

The Gate behind the 'lions' is still open, the Lost could attempt to run for and flee, but that would mean leaving Quill behind and to her nightmare.

Or, whatever else your devious minds might come up with!

[Lucifer]

As frenzied as the Aspirant Queen was, she knew that these Beasts were not the Gentry. She knew that they were simply constructs of the dream, simply fragments and figments of terror and pain...

And though her whole body shook in terror, she stood her ground, turning upon the beasts...

Ingrid was still holding the prisoner as the cage all but melted away. The Darkling even let out a sigh of relief as the figure cried out. She tried to school her features but her attempt simply failed: relief; joy; fear; righteous strength; hunger! They all played out across her face.

Another breath as her face collapsed back into a flushed contempt that was directed to the crowd; to the monsters now lumbering towards them.

"This is your dream. You can end this now. If you want."

The Palewraith leaned in and whispered into Quill's ear.

Technically, what Ingrid is attempting to do is to get Quill to end the dream - its her nightmare after all. I think it has been established that the dreamer is a Changeling, so that could be possible. In any case, Ingrid will try this tactic. My initial feeling was to use the "Convince Dreamer" tactic but I've changed it from a Wyrd operation to a straight skill role - Ingrid isn't seeding a dream so much as convincing an active participant.

Initiative has been called so I've added that here too. If necessary, I'll accept Ingrid's action here as her combat action.

The Lion creature on the right advances, swiping ineffectively at Lucifer.

The Winged one rises into the air! Swiftly manoeuvres, towards the cage binding Quill, who whisper a mantra "Can't! Can't! Can't!" Ingrid will remember that someone is forcing her to dream this dream. Keeping her within this nightmare -- perhaps even keeping her asleep...

Thoughts interrupted, the Winged Manticore releases a roaring shriek of it's-her own and beats her wings, generating a scything wind, heading straight towards the Spring Queen!
