It all happens so fast.
The heavy set man, eyes flaring, takes one step back and whips a heavy pistol from under his shirt with an ease born of practiced desperation. His target is John Davis, the trigger of his rage and who did set the quiet, unyielding, challenge of a calm stare upon him.
The shot was clean and devastating. If the Unconquered Daeva had been mortal, he would be bleeding out on the floor. As it is, John is still standing. With a great sucking hole in his torso. Fortunately, Kindred do not bleed... exactly... so he might be able to salvage his shirt with some work.

PresenceClara felt thin. She wasn't used to calling on her Blood this much. She called on her Blood again and inflicted the mustached man with the sensation of a finger being jammed in his right eye socket.
She then screamed and huddled against the rear tire of the truck.
Davis was a quick draw but the big guy was faster, unnaturally so. As the bullet tore through his undead flesh, his body reflexively healing itself. Davis' beast called out in hunger. With a flick of the wrists, Davis' guns were in his hand. Twin Colt Single Action Army Revolvers fired simultaneously point blank.

Blur of hands! Flash of steel!
Hot tang of blood and smoke in the air!
In the muzzle flash of his own weapon, the big Hunter is assailed on three sides. Buffeted, carved, broken - he falls like a dropped sack of cement to the ground. His blood is lapped up by the hungry earth.
Unbelievably, he is still conscious despite his grievous wounds.
"Mack! Get outta here! Warn...!" He yells, spitting blood.
At the pick up, the other Hunter struggles with the car door. He tumbles unceremoniously from the vehicle, clutching at his face and yelping like a surprised hog.
Clara dives out of sight, around the pack of the truck.
