It was just past midnight, on the outer edges of the Domain of Sacramento. Aaron was filling up his dark grey Dodge Caravan with some fuel as his gaze wandered off to the road ahead of him. A new city. A new Domain. A new life. He had never really traveled in his life. Hell, he had never left the state of Illinois.

Change is good.

The past weeks had been exciting and challenging for the Lord: going from town to town in search for a new home. For too long Aaron had been stuck in the same patterns in his night to night unlife. And with reason, he had someone who kept him there.

Though, not permanent change.

He did not like to admit it, but Aaron was a man in mourning. He lost his sire, his lover, his mentor. While their blood bond secured an artificial relationship, something real grew. Or so he believes, after all, it lasted for over a century.

I will live up to your legacy.

He spent the night peacefully in his car somewhere in the Tahoe National Forest. He could not be more ready for scouting another Domain. His wishes were really not too crazy. 1) No fucking forced Midnight Mass - he'd had his fair share in the Domain of Chicago. 2) Preferably not too many Dragons. Rivalry over Wyrm's Nests is what caused him to flee Chicago in the first place.

Time to find out.

The stench of gasoline that arrived at his nostrils interrupted his train of thought. His car had been filled up. If only he could get his fix as well. But this was not the place nor the time. Besides, his body was well equipped to be efficient in its use of Vitae.

It was time to find out whether Sacramento offered a place to settle, or would prove to be just another stop on a longer journey.
