Spotting the man trailing them Izayoi turns to her companions, arching a brow in silent question.
Would they allow him, his voyeuristic show. The potential to find their backs, or would they do something about their silent watcher?
Spotting the man trailing them Izayoi turns to her companions, arching a brow in silent question.
Would they allow him, his voyeuristic show. The potential to find their backs, or would they do something about their silent watcher?
Twist catches Izayoi's eyes and meets them evenly, answering her question with a silent yes.
But she didn't do anything else. Unless Ale asked them to start the violence, she was content to let their trailing companion think he had the upper hand. A trap seen is a trap destined to go unsprung.
Revealing they saw him now would only encourage him to slip away and try again. Perhaps successfully.
Realized I forgot to do bookkeeping...
They had already known they were being observed, though it was telling that one of Baker's allies was so positioned. It was tempting to smirk, and betray her own confidence, though the memory of rough canvas beneath her feet and the smell of incense wafting from the ancestor's shrine cautioned her. Ash would float upon the wind tonight, and were she not as sharp as her Soul, hers would be amongst them...
She catches the look from Izayoi, a small nod tell she sees him as well.
But attacking him now would have consequences. One being that it took the fight to the open night air, and sound traveled.
This was about letting Takeda take charge and show her skills as Reeve. And as such, the Savage was going to have to place faith in her decisions. And with no action from the Haunt, Ale knew they were going to let him think he had the upper hand. How it played out? Well, only the night would tell that.
The man in the shadows remains still. He makes no moves and doesn't sound any alarm. The Unconquered's move to play off as if he hadn't been spotted must have worked. As they pass by, he steps backward out of view. Possibly to tail them further from another vantage point.
Peaceful night sounds are all that can be heard as the four make their way up the path. Exterior lighting illuminates an ever-growing entrance to the hall proper. As if on queue, the doors open to produce another man in a suit. Stockier than the last, with olive toned skin and a mustache. He waits for the company to approach before addressing Takeda - who is first to reach him.
"Ms. Antinori?" he asks, eyeing the Asian woman dubiously. "Mr. Baker is expecting you inside. I'm here to escort you to the main hall." He pulls the handle grip on the door and steps outward to allow them access. What can be seen of the hallways within meet a wall further back and branch off on the left.
From the same side of the path as before, movement can be seen tucking away behind the corner of the building. Likely their pursuer had caught up with them.
Rolls for things
Takeda's patience was at an end. She did not proceed, but instead stared at the man.
"No. You lead. Walk quickly. I am tired of waiting," the Reeve declared, though an impatient whine masked the threat of death that lay behind the words.
She waited, however, for the man to step in front and finally lead them to Baker.
failure
Izayoi follows, until she is unable to anymore. Takeda-sama's patience woven fine, frayed farther with inaction and anticipation.
They would prove to the Prince they were worthy of the Bond of Blood.
"We have eagerly awaited this meeting. Anticipation coils with our ardent desire to meet with Mister Baker." Izayoi attempts to smooth over the fraying edges Takeda-sama's heated words will no doubt cause.
1 success
The small flickers if movement are noted as Twist keeps up her scanning as the walk.
Drifting to a stop with the group, she holds her silence. Merely waiting calmly, expectantly, for the man to do as Takeda and Izayoi commanded.
Dark eyes observe the man who address them. A simple lacky doing his job? Or was he in on whatever Baker had planned for this meeting? Patience she did not have, and seems neither did Takeda. So she had to appreciate the womans blunt and to the point talking.
Yet it seemed Izayoi was more the type to be diplomatic.
Interesting team. And she wondered how it would work with Baker or any other foe they encountered.
