He Howls a song of victory to spur them on and make their foes cower!

Viola-wolf is unable to topple the hulking monster. But being harried on all sides is taking it's toll. It seems unable to know which of the pack to fend off.

Chris-wolf's teeth find their purchase next, dispersing more of the beast into vapor. Hatred flashes in its eyes as it prepares to strike again.

But Emily-wolf is swifter on her feet, and steps in the deliver a savage wound with her claws. They strike so wickedly that the creature lets out a mournful howl and sags to the ground. The carnage begs her spirit to lend itself to fury, continuing to tear and shred the remains of her opponent - but she holds the temptation at bay. The Ithaeur stands over the broken form of their fallen foe.

Hector-wolf's song decries their victory, drowning out the death throes of the thing and drawing the grudging respect and fear of all those close enough to hear. Even the eyes in the woods beyond seem to understand the gravity of the call, as they appear in droves to observe.

Combat concludes.

The creature on the ground rapidly becomes less, evaporating away like a boiling kettle in the woods. The pervasive fog seems to recede along with it. Not entirely dissappearing, but revealing much more of the twisted wood.

Viola-wolf lends her voice to their victorious howl!

Her's is no match to her Alpha and Cahalith, but she feels no shame in that.

The shift in the wind-fog, draws her attention cutting off her voice, snaring her senses, they were not out of the wood yet.

She raises her head proudly and joins the howl, revelling in the victory of bbringing down the beast.

Attempting to join the pack's collective howl Chris's own falls short and sounds ugly. His head drops in shame and anger and he sees the eyes. Hair bristles as he takes a slow step towards the eyes.

The eyes mocking him. A low growl rattles out of him though it is weak compared to the chorus around him.

Bumps at Yumyumcrow / Hector

[Hector]

Hector is panting, flush with the triumph of a truely epic piece of howling. He is also noticing how the evil little eyes are popping up all over the place, even as the fog appears to recede and diminish.

Now is not the time to stop.

Snarling slightly, the Alpha pads forward from the pack. He passes over the body of the spirit, now ablating away into pure essence. Perhaps, if any watcher was quick enough, they might spot Hector's nose wrinkling in contempt. He stops and locks eyes with the Shadow Realm in a slow movement passing from left to right and back to the centre.

Sometimes, the only way to fight fear was to tackle it head on. Necessary Guile would surely approve: strength through bluff was certainly in their Totem's remit. The spirits of the wood had been allowed to run amok for too long; they had grown opportunistic and arrogant, thinking they could take their sustenance from beyond the Gauntlet.

It was time to put them in their place and the natural order of things. Red Wolf would expect nothing less.
