The mood inside seemed to shift rapidly. The previously feisty kitten's attitude collapsed in on herself like a egg on a counter. Brittle mask + hard surface = cracks. Not the outcome she was expecting. And then the woman with the dozen little eyes announced she was leaving as well, in a manner that suggested more than just the club, but more likely The Club. And somehow her supposed antagonists were dealt with.
She wasn't sure whether she should be happy about this or feel sorry. The crystalline lion certainly put on a good pout and the mood was definitely more somber with the wasp's leaving. But they were both strangers to her, nobodies who were pulled together by a shared fate and home. She had a hard time feeling for them when there was nothing between them.
Her expression remained flat as she ordered another drink.
"Alcohol seems nice. Drink for the departed. Spirits to lift spirits."
"Drinks for the living. For the dead. Drinks for everyone!" she says false cheer lighting her features.
"All the drinks! Every kind! We should totally start a club drinking thing. Like a word a day, but for grown ups." she smirks, tail flicking at her impressively impressive idea.
There's a beat, and it's not in time with the primal pulse of the bass.
"So! Can Maggie and I stay or what?" she asks, there seemed to be a lot of freeholders here, and now seemed as good a time as any. And if not, she'd take her Maggie and her Drink-a-Day idea and leaf.
(she was totes hilarious)
We should probably start wrapping up, we're over the month mark
Ingrid finally rouses herself, pocketing the key with a look of distaste and as if the keys were hot coals.
"Well I guess so." She says it so nonchalantly.
And then, with a harder and more suspicious edge. "I'll see you around."
Before anyone can say anything else, the Darkling is up and off, disappearing into the strobing lights and thudding gloom. If anyone cared to catch the look on her face, they would say that there was a rigid set to her jaw and her eyes were down cast.
I concur. Apologies for the late reply.
Cyndee watched as the Spring Sovereign left. With quite terse words. They didn't seem... directed at anyone. Maybe just a general sense of unease. Perhaps that waspy girl leaving bothered her more than she was letting on. Perhaps they were romantically involved?
"Need help? Try Funderland. Local theme park. Caters to our club. Has beds. Food. Work. Very helpful."
She swirls her drink in hand. It was strange, she'd thought a little liquor would help her loosen up and enjoy the night life. Instead, with things had been going, it just made her think of her own situation.
"Can take my room. If you want. Plan to leave myself. Wanderlust. Wanna range out. Too close to where it went wrong."
She drained her drink before leaving her payment on the countertop and heading for the door.
"Enjoy Sacramento. Seems your style."
Cyndee leaves the scene
There seems to a be a... divide. Between cheery welcomes and goodbyes. He tries not to think too hard about it. Quick smiles at the challenge presented by 'all the drinks', and orders his next one. This is going to be a long night. Fun. Until tomorrow.
"Bye, Ingrid." he says, waving to her back as she leaves. He isn't used to seeing her like that. All... down. Usually the perky, quirky type. He decides she just didn't have enough drinks.
"Yeah. Funderland. All the freaks hang out there." says his lack of inhibitions. "But it's cool. You know, to be a freak. Or whatever." He takes a sip of his next drink. This one is purple, and tastes like cranberry and citrus. He waves after big-bird leaves, too, then turns his attention to the rest.
"Guess this is the line in the sand. Those of you who can handle your drinks can stay. The rest should probably turn in." He hadn't even been thinking about Sera when he blurted that out. Internally he winces, but he conjures up a smile in her direction.
Yep, yep. I'll give it a day and then close it out. Thanks for the scene, and welcome to all teh new Lings.
