Sand scrutinises the area. She can tell that the structure is sound, despite all the pressures on its physical form. She can make out, quite clearly, that there is an ambient Resonance roughly corresponding to contentment. The kind of resonance that has to be built up slowly, over time, with effort.

The hive is different. The contentment pulsing from the hive shades into hunger. Perhaps more importantly, the resonance from the hive comes directly from within - from the grubs living there. The Obrimos can see enough - through the gauzy haze of Tass - to suppose that the grubs are a hybrid creature and that their Patterns chime of the Supernal with quiet ferocity.

For Aurora understanding is like a sudden rush of intuition to the head. She knows the plants at her side are various strains of Tomato, Cucumber, and other veggies. She can also tell that the hive and its occupants are most definitely Supernatual whatever their base origins; the Shaman gets a vague sense that the grubs may have started out as a common butterfly but that origin is... distant, now - as distant as the ape is from the human.

The hive does not respond to the mage's proximity.

Lacuna opens her senses and finds herself battered by a welter of sympathetic connections. The man (and it is a man) who must surely own the allotment has a very strong connection to it, as do the plants. The books and personal accoutrements have an almost intimate connection with the owner but not so much with the space.

The hive, on the other hand, has an Intimate connection to the specific area - just outside where Langdon indicated there was a crack in reality. The hive registers a slightly lesser (known) connection to the shed-greenhouse, presumably as this was the spot where hive materialised.

As the three women move to take another look Langdon had taken a few steps back. Opening locked doors wasn't something new to doing it out here...definitely new. The Moros takes a look around the allotment. Eyes just wandering, looking for anything out of place.

Why is this place just alone, here? There has to be more. Could it be an Awakened? If so who do they belong too.

The sweet, fragrant smells of roses mixed with lilacs emanate from her as she casts magic. The scent intensifies, bordering on intoxicating, when Life magic is cast. When Aurora casts Vulgar magic, the scent takes a nasty turn, to the putrid, nauseating odor of a rotting corpse. The stronger the magic, the more those around want to retch at the smell.

The Shaman stops as things come rushing at her. Life was a weird Arcana like that, allowing one to sense everything that was alive. And it took some getting used to.

But that Hive. Now that was supernatural.

Blue eyes keep watching it, “I get this feeling that what’s in the Hive might have started out as a common butterfly.” She says, still looking at it, “But they are no way butterflies anymore. They’re different and defiantly supernatural.”

The Hive hadn’t reacted to her being as close as she was. Did the spell work? Or did these grubs not have the predatory instincts?

    Note time.

Words are spoken and written (abbreviated form).

"So... we have a standard greenhouse unless I missed something said about it. Then we have a crack in the tapestry. Additionally we have standard butterflies that now have developed into something more. A supernal hybrid- they are now Patterned Grubs who have created a Tass Hive."

    Pause to skim list.

"I'm pretty sure we can make some assumptions. The crack and the development of these guys being connected for instance. And that we are the first to stumble upon it."

Simple padlock = mundane protection at best.

"And I think we need to start figuring out how it happened, how to stop it, and what to do with-" Pencil points at Hive.

At first, there is a soft rattling of chains tickles your ears, which increase in volume as the sound of something heavy scraping the floor echos out. The scraping grows louder, and now heavy measured footsteps a company the ominous cacophony...which you realize seems to come from everywhere, no matter the distance.

Relationships are precious, sacred, and private. But not to a mastigos, never to a mastigos, the lie of space reveals it all to her trained eyes. "The owner will be bad. Soon. he wont let anything keep him from his plants." Lacuna informs the party.

"It did manifest here, but" with an arched brown she turns to Langdon, "There is an intimate connection to this hive, and where you indicated where the cracks where."

Langdon is busy exploring the allotment. Its a normal, mundane, allotment. The owner appears to be a solid, if not exceptionally imaginative, gardener.

Inside the greenhouse, the hive continues to do nothing. The grubs appear to wriggling contentedly in their Tass home.

Listening without actively paying attention to the source is a good skill to pick up when you are forced to sit in lecture halls for hours on end. Still its not perfect.

"It would make more sense for the crack to lead to the hive than the hive to the crack." The Moros shifts to look back at the shed, then the area around it. "At least that makes more sense than the hive occurring and influencing a crack in the Tapestry...hopefully." Unless someone had a very odd paradox.

"Stopping it is a bit extreme though. Containing it would be best, then we could study it further." Maybe not a possible Mystagogue then. "Purely guessing? I would not be surprised if weird things like this start to occur around town. From the stories I have heard it's almost a wonder that the town exists still."

A single shoulder shrug, “Seems normal to me, the standard veggies being grown and what not.” She offers. But she didn’t rally study the greenhouse in depth, she’d been called here for bugs. Cause Life.

Eyes look to the hive again as Sand pointed to it.

Did she want to destroy it? Take it with them?

Then Lacuna makes a great point, “Yeah, whoever the owner is won’t be happy about us in here.” Though the lack of a decent lock was troublesome. “I’m worried about the basic lock. Who’s to say there isn’t some Arcana alarms in place that we’ve tripped?” they had to think of that possibility.

“Can anyone see into the crack? Get some sense of where it leads or whatever?”
she could do Spirit stuff, but was pretty sure this was above her pay grade.

Her arms cross as she looks at the Hive and then back to Langdon, “I can attempt to control the insects, make them more docile to help us move them.” She offers. Now, she’d never done it before, but she’d be willing to give it a shot. "But I'd be curious where we'd take them and what we'd keep them in."

    "Us. Or the Hive."

Very few bugs = approved by vegetable gardeners. Ladybugs and honey bees only ones immediately coming to mind.

"Us he will just call the cops on assuming we don't have a decent cover story. But those guys... he will likely try to exterminate. And I just don't see a way that that scenario plays out well."

    1. Gardner destroys hive structure. Pisses off grubs. Supernal Grubs get angry. X
    2. Gardner tries to kill grubs. Adds chemicals to an area that might make things supernal. Supernal chemicals. X

Looks to Langdon as the one who spotted the crack initially. "I haven't even caught sight of this crack... can you elaborate?"

The wise do what they do best. Talk and stare. Lacuna shakes her head, she grabs a small rings on a chain of iron links, her other hand weaves a bright grey glyph into being. The lines are imprecise, but forceful. The Abyss doesn't leak through working and the near giantess smirks as her own crack-window-portal grows beside her.

"The gardener or groundskeeper or whoever is going to be back. We don't have an ETA. Standing around isn't going to make everything better. Aurora. Can you make the bugs sleep? Sand, could you wrap it in tass or do some Prime hoodoo? We want the hive intact and the bugs for study right?" she gestures at her portal. "We can take it through here, and then we can come back and poke around the crack." Lacuna says, focused more on the portal and keeping it open then if she hurt their feelings by taking charge.
