Katie grabs Mister Buns and spins him around to look at her. She frowns. "Billy's cried when Mom had to wash him. Can't believe he left him behind..." Her huge eyes stare up at Circe , taking in what she's said. She nods, near the end. "It's definitely not the spider-bats.
He knows better than to run outside of our hiding spot.
The Beast girl shows some reluctance at accepting Sasha 's hand, but eventually takes it. "Yeah... Ok. Not because I'm little or anything, though." she protests. The uncertain look on her face doesn't match her obstinate tone.
The invasive visions in Ingrid 's mind only reveal two truths: the presence of eight-eyed watchers on wings and that the pathway has barely been touched be Hedgeshaping. The very path itself seems to consist of trampled Thorns only recently disturbed.
Katie suddenly tugs on Sasha's hand, trying to set off towards the questionable path. "We can't leave him out there! Come on!"
If Sasha willingly comes with Katie towards the trail... no action required. If not... Initiative with Katie.
Stretch out your senses.
Breathe.
Stretch out your senses.
"I... I can't sense... Anything. Spider-Bats. Yeah. But nothing else. This path is new. Fresh. Or close to it."
Breathe.
"Circe. If we're gonna do it, you go first. You got weapons, right? All I got is a knife. I can't sense him. But he could be far down the trail. And its a small path. Not really a path, even."
The Darkling stood aside so the Crimson could make her way unimpeded.
"You sure he came this way? Right?" Ingrid asked quietly, casting a fretful look at Katie. She was more focussed on the trail than Circe's answer, rummaging through the broken Thorns and beaten Hedge for any sign that a fire based Elemental Lost had passed by.

Her eyes began to water as the Wyrd worked against her, forcing her to stop after a short distance. The scent of plum thickened in along the confined space of the trail, ripening with the Darkling's frustration.
Poisoned Boon from failed Pledge kicks in. I went with an Occult Skill roll because Ingrid is looking for the kind of damage an Elemental like Billy would make as they cut their way through the Hedge.
Yeah yeah yeah," Circe nodded in agreement with Ingrid as she pulled out her flashlight, "Though I kinda wish ya brought a weed whacker or something more branch choppy." Circe clicked on her flashlight, holding it in the overhead fashion she'd experienced police officers using.
Circe wasn't sure why they did that but it had to be useful. "I got no fffffreaking clue Ingrid. But its the only exit." The Queen of Wrath barely caught herself.
"Katie!" The elf drew her large pistol and had it loosely aimed in front of her as she took the lead, "Ya probably ain't heard it before but got a vital rule ta tell ya. Never walk in front of somebody with a gun. Like ya know, me." Circe will take the lead of the foursome if they proceed down the path.
The reference to Mom resonated within the Fairest. Either she'd missed it previously, or this was the first time it was stated. A quick glance to Ingrid with the mouthed word 'mom' and a questionable look. Was this the first time it was said in her presence as well?
Despite being tugged by Katie, the Dancer slowly goes with the girl. Yet yields before the come to Circe. "She's right, we should let Circe go ahead of us since she has the weapon." Which was obvious to the adults, but probably not to the little girl.
"Katie, have you ever been on this path before?" Maybe if she hadn't, Sasha asking the question aloud would slow her down a bit.
Sasha isn't unwilling to go with her, but caution remains.
"Weapons aren't exactly my thing," Ingrid replied as the Crimson Courtier muscled forward. As Circe did, the Darkling slapped her companionably on the shoulder, forcing out a bit of Glamour and a blessing through her fingertips.
"For luck," she adds with a purr-fect grin, completely taking for granted that her bodily contact will be viewed positively.
The Emerald Darkling hangs back while Sasha and Katie pass. She does the same to them, blessing them with favoured fate.
To Katie: "We are going to find him. See, Circe is taking the front. She is a real fighter, she is." Ingrid brushed her hair soothingly.
To Sasha, a wry sad grin: "Lets get this show on the road. For luck." Ingrid gave the Onyx Queen a gentle, supportive, squeeze on the arm.
Contract of Hearth 2: Favoured Fate. +4 on the next active action. Activated for Circe Origins and Sasha Selena . Katie has also been covered Travisc06489
The path doesn't look like it's seen frequent foot traffic, other than the obvious trampling that had initially cleared it. The job had been hasty, and probably unintentional, with the expected wear and tear on the fae foliage. But a recurring anomaly stands out in the Vernal Sovereign's eye: some of the Thorns bow outward at the same height, as if shrinking away from a heat source. Billy has to have come this way.
Neither held back nor released by Sasha, Katie's grip tightens. She tugs onward towards the rough clearing, only pausing after Circe's chide. "I'm... sorry. I've never been around guns before." Innocently, she adds "You can go first. You're pretty brave."
"Not me. It's been like that for a while." the girl says, head swiveling back to stare up at Sasha. "Are you gonna fit? Those thorns could cut you."
Indeed, the opening of the path is barely large enough for an adult to fit through without brushing against the Thorns. Fortunately, fickle fate smiles on Ingrid's three companions. For now.
Physically passing through the entrance to the path requires a Dex + Athletics roll. Other options exist, of course. But I leave the decision to you guys.
Ingrid catches sight of the anomaly among the Thorns and pauses to take a closer look.
"We're on the right track. See. The Thorns retreated from something hot... Along along here. Billy has to have come this way."
The Darkling flashes a grin at young Katie. Finally the concrete proof she was hoping for!
And then she is off! Catching up with (and quite possibly moving ahead of) the Crimson Fairest. Ingrid has drawn her knife now. It looks tiny and insignificant in her hand: no doubt the blade would give a thug pause on the mean streets; but out in the Hedge, the weapon is little more than an iron tooth.
Ingrid steps through the opening without any apparent difficulty.

She is more interested in following the signs left by Billy on his flight from the glade. Eventually her calm head beats her enthusiastic heart and she waits for Circe and the others to catch up.
"Yes I am Katie," Circe maintains her spot in the lead of the group. As nobody has suggested something better, Circe thinks they're gonna have to wiggle in.

Circe has some trouble wiggling through the thorns. Perhaps she should work on her flexibility if she plans on doing this again in the future.
The flashlight is shined down the pathway. Her elven ears twitch as her red eyes scan for targets. She moves up beside Ingrid, "Ingrid? Yer Hedge sonar picking up Billy?"
