The door creaked and opened.

A man shuffled out, took several uncertain steps before crumbling completely to the floor. A man with skin so sickly it was almost ashen. A man with foam flecking his mouth. A man with wide, glazing eyes. A man in a rumpled suit, all stained with sweat. Trailing behind him like a limp tail was a duffel bag. He is groaning and gagging; one hand claws at the earth.

Those who wish may make a Wits + Medicine roll to figure what ails the main. If you wish to administer first aid, then Intelligence + Medicine + relevant specialties -3 penalty (lack of equipment, light, etc)

And of course, you can do Other Things as well...

Josef took note of the women and their actions, spotting the fact that Cadence was seemingly interested in aiding, which gave him the opportunity to do... other things.

He quickly darted for the car, checking to see if there were any other people in the car. As he walked briskly, he stepped on the strap of the duffel back and crouched down to look into the wreckage. This had two effects, firstly – it might cause the duffelbag to slip op, without it seeming to obviously what he was trying to do, and secondly – it might cause the poor guy to not crawl to far before Cadence could help him.

All the while, Josef could not help but feel that this was a setup – it felt too easy, almost as if something, or someone, was watchig them for their reactions. Perhaps it was merely a trick of his mind, but he was grateful for the tightening of his flesh and the slow but steady security that crept through him, as he knew that he could withstand terrible blows. The paranoia that was growing within him had been carefully cultivated over many years, and perhaps had run rampant. He wondered if he should try to move the car – it did look a mess currently, and would probably not be going anywhere anytime soon. Might as well get it out the way. He checked over his shoulder, looking away from the car. ”How is he doing?” He asked Cadence, trying to sound calm.

The first thing Alice notices is there's not the heady blood scent she was expecting. The person stumbles out and Alice moves closer, fingers light over the body, probing, seeking.

What had happened to cause the crash....?

It took a moment to get over her initial shock at the state of the man. The symptoms didn't line up with what she was expecting given the crash, but the confusion only lasted a few moments before her resolve hardened and her training kicked in. Crouching down beside him, she let her instincts guide her. Diagnosing could come later, once she had done her best to stabilize him.

"Could be a lotta things. Possibly any number of illnesses. Probably an overdose. Check his bag for me, see if you find anything he might have taken. Do you know CPR?" Cadence replies quickly, without looking at the Lord. Her tone is firm, commanding. Without waiting for a response, she carefully rolls the man onto his back to begin first aid. She didn't have much with her, but she is used to working with sparse resources.

The lack of resources and the peculiarity of his condition proves too much for her. Despite putting all she had into it, her efforts are fruitless. A heat rises behind the Anarchist's eyes. What the fuck is all that training good for, huh? WHAT GOOD ARE YOU?

"What the FUCK is in that bag? Give me something to work with, god dammit! I can't help him if I don't know what the FUCK is happening!" Cadence growls, presumably at Josef, but not really to anyone in particular. The Daeva is hunched over the man, uselessly fumbling around, checking his pulse over and over, unable to do anything, bubbling with rage ...

The three Kindred move quickly.

Cadence to assist the stricken man, her moves professional and her attitude morphing to match.

Alice follows moving by touch more than sight. She senses the convulsing man. Her fingers brush his cold, clammy skin and his sweat drenched shirt. Those careful fingers also detected the big lump in his coat - a crudely wrapped object held between his twisting body and his coat. Furry towel? A wound? No. No blood.

The violence of the shakes and convulsions probably contributed to the crash. He would need to have been a skilled driver indeed to manage under such conditions.

Josef moves to inspect the car. In the process he deftly ensures the duffel bag is untangled from the stricken man - its open, and the Lord can make out clothes, official looking documents, and enough pills to qualify as a very small pharmacy. There is no one else in the car, whose interior looks spotlessly clean despite the crash.

Cadence's mien speeds well of her and so Alice leaves the women to the seizing kine as her dings poke and prod the...object.

Josef grabs the bag and tries to decipher the pills. Reading aloud the names of one of the bottles: "Eeerh, theres a bottle of ..." after which he tries to pronounce the name of the pills - if Cadence or the Seneschal requests it, he rolls it in her generel direction. As he eyes whats happening with them, he quickly yanks his hand down into the bag and pulls out one of the documents. Flipping it over, trying to glance some sort of meaning from it, mumbling something about "He might have a condition... what might, what might". He could not help but wonder if perhaps the guy had somethnig valueable hidden in between those files, he might be courier of sorts, or they might contain hints, passwords or other information that might be useful or valueable.

He stops flipping through the files, looking over at the mess, wondering if they needed his help...

Alice's fingers move from prodding and probing to exploratory. The object is about the size of her forearm, wrapped in a towel, and carries a certain amount of weight. Her Beast shudders lamely at the touch.

Josef discovers that the official looking documents are bank bonds - the kind that don't elicit many questions. There are also some dossier's and prospectuses. Buried in one side of the bag there is a black notebook which contains a number of account details, passwords, a list of names and contact details: all set out neatly in a hand that is prone to shakes. Whoever this man was, he had an interesting array of connections.

Hidden within the pages of the black notebook is a crudely made business card for someone by the name of Ronnie G.

The prospectuses appear to be atypical: banking instruments, corporate investments and the like. The prospectus largely relate to the holding company, Hopkins and Ponting; the merchant bank, Bank of Ptah; and the philanthropic Society of Penelope.

The dossiers are simple homemade compilations of information relating to a number of people. Most of it appears to be cobbled together from legitimate, official sources, backed with a modicum of surveillance. The range of people tagged in the dossiers is eclectic. From a banking CEO, to a gang banger, and a conspiracy nut.

The rest of the bag has been hastily filled with a set of spare clothes.

Josef shakes his head "Nothing about medical conditions. A buisness card for someone called "Roonie G" - might be the guy, or might be a friend, but it seems like he was in finance" That's all he says. He does not want to bog down the situation any more. Josef sips the duffelbag closed and slings it over his shoulder and steps closer to Cadence, ready to assist.

He wondered if he would be allowed to run off with the bag - the situation was a bit hectic, and they might not notice...

Alice acknowledges Josef's words with a distracted, hollow hum more focused on the object in hand. The way the Wraith...shudders as her fingers hold and trace over the length of the object.

Slowly she removes the towel, her clever fingers still at work as her mind travels over what she knows would cause this....reaction in the Wraith.
