She needed to feed. If the gaping wounds in her body didn’t remind her of that, her hungry Beast certainly did.
The evening had not gone as planned, though they walked away, it wasn’t without sacrifice. That sacrifice being precious Vitae and serious wounds to each there. Longstreet paying a higher price, laying in Torpor for his effort to defeat the Brood.
But she couldn’t deal with his situation yet, not without feeding and healing.
So there she found herself, stalking alleyways in the less favorable part of the city. Trying to stay away from places that would be crowded or where she would draw too much attention.
While the homeless and drunks weren’t her usual meal, she couldn’t afford to be too picky right now. If she got some blood into herself, and some wounds healed, she’d call her Herd. But they couldn’t see her like this, too many questions would be asked.
One alley turned up what she was after, some homeless guy, passed out near a dumpster. The spoiled part of her that had grown to prefer the Herd she had, revolted at the stench. The obvious dirt and god knows what else would normally make her turn her nose up.
But not tonight. Tonight she practically jumps on the poor guy before sinking her fangs into his neck. The sweet, warm fluid flows into her mouth and body. As it flows, she feels wounds begin to knit back together, and gaping holes close.
Pulling her head back, she licks the wound as the back of her hand wipes her mouth.
With some wounds healed, she could return home, sleep, and then deal with what happened.
