The sky was utterly black, the storm clouds blotting out the stars, even though the rains had finally ended. Streetlights glistened on the rain wet pavement, and everything in the neighborhood around the Gallery had closed.
Yellow police tape cordoned off the doors to the Starbucks, and in living rooms across the city, the evening news reported on an unfortunate, drug induced episode incapacitating several people inside the establishment.
Yet, above the door to the gallery, a massive, backlit metal sign hung like a dark halo, proclaiming Gutenberg's name for all the world to see. And, somewhere inside sat a radio, a radio that was wanted by three ruthless tyrants, and a Guardian that no one in Sacramento had ever met.
Nevertheless, the Wise of Sacramento had agreed to fetch the radio, and so on the rooftop behind the gallery the impromptu Heist crew had gathered. It had been a simple hop from a dumpster onto a fire escape to reach the top of the building, and all that lay between the Magi and the roof of the converted brick warehouse was a ten foot alleyway, and a twelve foot drop.
