"But of course there are problems!" Cosette exclaimed, her brow furrowing in annoyance. "I just said as much, did I not? The courts there are feuding. People 'ave died, or disappeared, at the least. And, were that bad enough, we 'ave 'ad no end of the Others plaguing us. San Francisco is more of a nightmare than it is anything else. Why are you so surprised? 'Ave you not had your share of troubles, like those loyalists in the 'edge?"

"We've had our problems." Green had emerged from the back booth and had made his ponderous way over to where the rest of the Freehold huddled, conversed and socialised. "Though I guess you could say our problems have been more... um... singular? Is that a word?"
From the angle of his head, one may have surmised he was somewhat confused that word of their predicament was not common knowledge.
"Thats not to say we'd not be glad of the help. Yeah. So I guess that means your welcome. Queen L'aire will probably want to speak to you at some point. Me? I'm just Green. Of Winter."
He jerked his head to indicate the Onyx Queen. His eyes and other senses sought out the wintry mantles among the new arrivals.

Before Cosette heads over to her audience with the Queen, Alex has one more question. The one normal-looking guy and her treatment of him is worrying... he hopes she's not doing what he suspects, especially after what had just happened to her. He gestures toward the man.
"Who is your friend here? He... stands out in the crowd."

Not far from where the "one normal looking guy" was standing was a group of Lost with the subtlest of mantles: the occasional puff of chilled breath, frost on the surface of a glass, the sound of snow softly crunching as weight was shifted, and others that couldn't be determined at a glance.
"'Im?" Cosette asked, her brows arcing in surprise beneath her crimson beret as she looked in the direction of Alex's gesture.
"Oh, 'im. Yes, that's Snowfall Steve," she explained, obvious distaste coloring her voice. "'E is an imbecile, if you ask me, but most of the Onyx court seems to like 'im. Especially Mendelev." She gestured at the man in the pork pie hat. "They work together."
