If Alex was looking for a gunman, he was out of luck. But gender didn't matter in the field of choking smoke, angry cries, and flowing blood. So he charged towards the rifle's muzzle flash and barreled into another solid form, almost bringing them both to the ground...
Per the wording of Armor of Elements Fury, the damage does not stack. You either have to make an attack specifically with the armor, or be struck by an attack. Simply being in the grapple wouldn't automatically inflict the damage.

Green bellowed as the bullet cut through him. It was a pain the giant was not used too and the uniqueness of it lend his bellow a particular ferocity. Enraged at his clumsy first strike and disoriented by the smoke, he struck out blindly in the direction of the gunshot, huge fists swinging like twin hammers.
Turns out Green has 1/1 Armour. He has his greatcoat and Armour of Elements Fury. See post #130 on page 13 for the details. I'd almost forgotten about it. He will have suffered 5L by this point - ouch!

Already struggling against an unknown assailant in a miasma of choking smoke, the gunslinging privateer almost didn't see the gigantic form of Green barreling towards her, but there was only so much you could do when a fist the size of your face was flying at you, and Green felt his knuckles hit flesh.
Another form appeared behind Alex, and he felt smoke swirl against the back of his neck as something barely missed...
Timbers began to crack and groan as flames ruthlessly gutted them, and amidst that battlefield of swirling smoke Nathan felt the Ember man shifting his weight, preparing to tuck his hip against the former soldier and throw him to the ground, but before he could Nathan's instincts kicked in and he dragged the man's weight off balance, almost bringing him to the ground.

Smell of smoke. Ashes. Gunpowder. Sweat. A thousand unintelligible noises. A kick and a furious roar. A salamander squirming. A memory: a metallic taste rising in his throat. It was only a flash. He forgot it, and he sought to sink his fangs on the salamander's throat. Throats were easily cut open, and then red just poured out. There was nothing he knew now, but he felt full well that at least one of them should, ought to, die, almost as strongly as he felt that he wanted to live.

Nathan fought and struggled with the living ember, slowly forcing the man's head down so that he could sink his teeth into the man's neck, and tasted blood as flesh parted, and then felt a burning pain in his mouth as the veins of fire under the man's skin tore open and spilled fire into Nathan's face.
Meanwhile, Alex struggled against the gunslinger, with Green's meaty fists smashing into the woman and bruising flesh, but before Alex could tear into her, and before Green could beat her unconscious, the privateer was able to pull her rifle up, just enough to act as a lever, almost throwing Alex off his feet, and tearing her way out of his grip. And then she was off, running, trying to put some shooting distance between herself and her attackers.
Behind her the piggy giant continued to squeal and bellow, the shouts of the hobs mingling with sounds of brutality and violence as they beat on him.

Through the tumult of smoke and the din of battle, Green sought an opponent.
The Ember was caught in a life-death struggle with Nathan and for the moment, the Hunterheart appeared to winning. The sight lent new fuel to the anger welling up from his volcanic core.
To his side the hobs hammered into the Pig.
And Alex was struggling with the gunslinger. Green found his focus. He remembered the burn of the bullet as it cut into him. Bellowing, he hurled himself against the immobilised privateer. His fists swung like sledges.
