(The Dark) Burning Times

"Someone is in the house." David says with little inflection. The perpetrator most likely, though with the prevalence of Dominate, it could very easily be a victim.
David runs towards the house, at the very elast they would have some information, either in their mind or on their body. The press of the flames is concerning, and he reduces his vision back to normal, instead heighting his hearing to hear better the sounds of the pain, and locate the victim.
He will approach the door to the house, or a window, looking for a way in that is not immediately pouring out fire.

David tries the door first. It gives but remains sealed. The handle is a little warm now.

Fortunately one of the windows pops and shatters, buckled by the maelstrom within. As luck would have it, the only thing escaping from that opening is smoke and the unfortunate's wailing. David can see the lone figure writhing in the growing flames: a burning man, dancing in the throes of destruction.

David may attempt to slip through the opening: Dexterity + Athletics -1. Failure would next the Mekhet 1 Lethal from cuts and abrasions. Perhaps more concerning, David will have to overcome Fear Frenzy (Rotschreck) - Resolve + Composure, Target Number 5 successes. David can do many things but diving into a burning building is not something the Beast will willingly allow. Its probably already scrambling around in his head, confronted by the developing inferno within.

Trailing after Robert, the doll nods along with his assessment. "I've also messaged Garrick and Jack...if he's even still around, with the message as requested. Should I up the level?" she asks her Regent, as her eyes take in the growing blaze, and the agonized howls coming from within.

Alice clams up. She's-she's terrified. She wants no part in nearing the blaze. But, at the same time she wants to help....but...but-the Wraith's ice is think and freezes her in place. She hopes with the part of herself that is always caught up in appearances that the other monsters think she's waiting for directions, instead of her own fear that holds her immobile.

He sees the victim and David proceeds forward. He does not think much of what to say to the others. This is a task that a leader takes, and if they follow and help, that is on them. "I'm going in." He rips off his funeral robe, revealing the answer to the question of how pale is the ass of a vampire. He holds the robe in front of him as he dives through the window, the cloth ripping from the sharp glass, but his skin remaining mostly intact. He comes to the man, burning, and throws the cloak on him, trying to extinguish the flames.
The beast on the other hand, has a far, far different mindset. This is the epitome of madness, the height of folly. This Cannot Stand.
But David has heard the beast's terror, he saw it staring into the eyes of his fellow acolyte just minutes ago, and he tests his will against the beast. He does no clever tricks or mind games. No, this is pure shouting down the fear. Drowning it in David's own pscyhe of 'My Will Be Done.' For a moment, he can hear himself think, but only for a moment.

And David stands in the burning ruin of the farm house. Flames eat the carpet and lick lasciviously at the walls. The air is heat, smoke thick. Walls smoulder and burn. Furniture puffs and cracks. Amid it all, a burning name dances in a raiment of fire - a horrible St. Vitus dance; a marionette whose strings are held in a violent and convulsive hand...

The figure is struggling blindly to get somewhere in the room.

So far, the Mekhet holds his screaming Beast at bay(how strange to hear his inner voice echoing the death screams of he that has wrought so much destruction on the Crone Farm...) So far, the licking tongues of red-gold fury have not latched onto him.

Her Beast screams at her that they were not going in there. No way. She wants to back David up, but going willing into fire, yeah, no.

It was a struggle, the will to want to help, and the simple feeling of self preservation. Her Beast wins out, they weren't going in. But they were ready for David to come out with their target in hand.

She will pace as she watches where David went in, hands flexing and clenching as she waits to see him emerge.

David echoes his own mental scream, adding a third harmony to the screams of his beast and the figure in front of him. "Come with me!" He shouts over the din of the fire and the crack of wooden beams overhead. His voice is steady but loud, unlike the voices in his mind that will not quiet, his voice is not imploring or suggesting, but demanding that the figure take action and do what is told.
The warmth of the room is starting to get to David, and his beast is scrambling madly. Run. Flee! Get Out NOW. It screams in his mind in a strength he has not heard in many years. And still he shouts back. I will succeed. I will do this. I am Stronger than You!
He uses his cloak to shepard the person to the window, their escape, and prays.
Dark Mother, hear your son. Give me the strength of Vishnu and the courage of Odin. Let me save this life, so that it may serve you.
Let the summer sun not claim another tonight!

"Shit" is the only reaction he can muster when David enters the burning structure. There is no way Cross will follow suit. He's not sure if he respects the Acolyte's courage or disdains his recklessness. Either way, the burned man will not, cannot, follow. He escaped the flames once, only due to his sire and the embrace that followed. He is sure that he will not escape again.

Instead, he follows Ale's lead and prepares to assist the Shadow should he re-emerge from conflagration. Unblinking eyes watch the window David had used as his point of entry in anticipation.
