(Spiders) A Clue in the Closet

[Crowley]

Crowley searches for the bedroom he had Seen. Along the way he takes the time to check the bookshelves - books can say a lot about those who own them. He doubted he'd find any occult paraphernalia, but one never knew.

A summoning could go wrong.

Jose could have been the member of a cult.

Once (if) he finds the correct bedroom, the Enchanter runs through the Jose's actions. Before that, he carefully checks out the room for anything strange or suspicious.

ST NOTE: Crowley is using the Sight to find things that don't add up or stand out as strange / out of place. I guess you could say he is looking at the Nature of things but he is really just out to augment his usual faculties with the ability to perceive things beyond normal ken. Privately, the Enchanter is still trying to wrap his head around how a spirit can eat a physical body and invade it...

"If you can, please do," Truce answers to Flidais's suggestion as he moves to examine the pill bottle. "Xanax," he says aloud, reading the label. He wonders if he can use that when maxing Alvarez's death, imitating an overdose. He sets the pill back down. "Some people say the anxiety feels like it's eating away at you. I suppose it became quite literal. Flidais, emotion can serve to attract Spirits to this plane, correct? Could the Spirit have been feeding off Mr. Alvarez's anxiety even before it took on physical form?"

To do an investigation of the house would be a wits+investigation roll as per core. Each roll would represent 1 hour of work, and would represent various amounts of ransacking the place to figure out every nook and cranny. At 1 roll the house will be completely intact, just lightly movable things moved around. at 2 rolls, heavy furniture is moved around. At 3+ rolls, various immovable objects are forced to move, resulting in structural damage.

Crawley's extended scrutiny of the bedroom yields no new information. No temporal distortions or magical workings go on in the bedroom itself, at least, not recently enough to be easily seen.

Flidais gives a brief look around making sure she won't be caught on camera or on mic, she probably needed a bit of atlantean help to pull this off right.

She imagines Truce, Crowley and herself leaving behind no DNA, no saliva samples nothing that she, with her control of life, would be left behind. Unfortunately footsteps and less organic things would still be left behind, but atleast there would be no DNA match, if the spell took.

Happy at everything going right so far she turns her attention to Truce's enquiry. "No reason they would though, I mean if you were feeding off this person's emotion and they were a good source, why would you end that source? Seems to me more like something is controlling or corrupting their nature... or it just got corrupted..."

"Do we want to do an extended search with 2 people helping a main searcher?"

[Truce]

"Hmm," intones the Necromancer thoughtfully. "Well let's look around a bit, see if we can't find anything that might offer better explanation."

Truce will carefully move about the house, checking the space for anything unusual that stuck out. He'll open drawers and flip through the books on the shelf as well as take some to analyze the photographs. Closets, under the bed, and finally the bed itself where Crowley mentioned the invasion to occur. He keeps his attention within Twilight as well as the physical plane in his search.

"You know, Mr. Alvarez didn't have his phone on him when he was found. Perhaps it was dropped while he wandered into that open lot," he suggests out loud between moments of investigation. At the thought, Truce will check for a house phone as well and anything recorded on an answering machine.

I'll nominate Truce as the primary, with the intention for a 1 roll search. Perhaps he can make use of his Crime-scene kit for an equipment bonus to locate any residue on the bed where initial contact was supposedly made?

Crowley reluctantly starts to look around. This Enchanter was not really built for hard searches and quickly becomes distracted in the airing cupboard and a hinderance to further investigation in the bedroom.

"I expect Crowley could help us with that, couldn't you?" he asks with a soft smile. The man's been able to find everything for him in the past with the right amount of sympathy.

Truce and team start on the house and proceed for the next hour. Rugs are moved, couches cushions are discarded, paintings are dehung, and every drawer, cupboard, closet, and cabinet is examined. The majority of the house appears completely untouched for weeks. Dust accumulates everywhere, spoiled food sits in the fridge, and a mango on the counter was a maggot center, and is now just a large pit.
However, the bedroom closet seems off. There are dress shirts, slacks, even a nice set of ties that would look good on the crew. But yet, something seems off to all of them. To Truce's eyes, Death itself seems less pronounced here, the ambient flow of energy into entropy just seems weaker. Insufficient. When Flidais looks inside, the ambient life and health of the space, the airborne bacteria and viruses and fungus, just seems...less. Its not dead, just less of itself. To Crowley's eyes, fate seems sluggish, that cause and effect are no longer quite as comfortable with each other, and so they are just a hair further apart than they used to be. They do notice a nailed piece of wood in the ceiling. What, if anything, it obscures is currently unknown.
