Frats and Sororities are facets of college life. On the one hand, they give lonely, isolated college kids a sense of belonging, a ready-made network, and a group of friends. Not too dissimilar from the Night Societies that prowl through the world. On the other hand, they provide echo-chambers, yes-men, singular modes of vision that lead to narrow minded thought. Also, not too dissimilar from the Night Societies.
In the van, the Veiled Threats see their targeted house. Spring is in the air, carrying with it the sweet scent of new grass and pollen that will drive allergies wild. This house is quiet, freshly manicured lawns and bereft of red-party cups.
Apparently the party is elsewhere.
A black drape of mourning dresses the front door and sways gently in the breeze.
Another fraternity down the road is the source of hoots and hollering tonight, releasing the stress of another class-week along with the anticipation of on-coming graduation.
Nearby, a shrub shuffles in the breeze.
