Fringe stirs, pointedly surveying the chamber. Then she shrugs and hauls herself to her feet.
The pair allow themselves to be herded into the Reeve's office.
Fringe and Priss leave the main area
A lowering of her head, a silent gesture of understanding and acceptance. There was little surprise on her face at what would be the parting statement between them though. After all, an action had been taken and a reaction must therefore occur. And the larger the initiating action, the larger the reaction.
Offering a parting curtsy to the Prince, after all there was no indication on how long this would last or if she would see him again before Court ended, she then turned to follow after the Reeve.
And if there was an additional level of fluidity to her walk, an edge of danger balanced on petite toes, so be it.
Twist leaves the main area
He arrived early at the Nox and things were still pretty quiet. There was no way for him to know if or when Priscus Regan might show up, but he'd gotten the message that this was the place to find him. Even in life, Roman had never liked night clubs. As an awkward, bookish type, the preening and posturing associated with places like this had always left a sourness in his gut. The presence of other Kindred just made his aversion worse.
His body convulsed with several impulses to both flee and feast before he even got through the coat check. This was definitely the place.
But he wasn't here to socialize. If he was going to stay in Sacramento, he needed to feed. That meant presenting himself to the local Prince, and David Regan was the kindred to make that happen--at least that's what the other Mekhets back in Los Angeles said.
The inside was impressive. He might have enjoyed it if he still could. He walked over to the bar and ordered a gin & tonic.
Alice wondered just what sort of mystery was surrounding those two newcomers as they were lead away, but she valued the place where her head currently resided far too much to snoop.
It looked like Gilroy didn't have need of her, so her unreal amethysts look around the room, and for a conversation to join. Alessandra's dress kept drawing her eye, it was something she'd think would match a Daeva, but on the Gangrel it was striking, the way it played with her tattoos...
Tilting her head to stop herself from biting her lip Alice walked over to join the two gangrel she knew, and the mekhet she hadn't met yet.

After talking with Martine and Konrad for awhile, I had decided to go back to being the wall flower. I moved away from most the groups and just kind of kept to myself, deciding who I should introduce myself to next.
Caleb arrived at the Nox on foot and hurried to the stairs inside - he didn't need the temptation of a feast right now. Not with how hungry he was. It practically hurt how much he needed to drink. But, Caleb pushed through it and steeled himself against the Beast as he descended the stairs. And a good thing too, because the moment he stepped into the main area, the old animal instincts welled up. His fangs popped out, and he had to resist the urge to put them to good use and chase all these vampires out, killing any who weren't fast enough to escape.
Instead, he jabbed a fang into his lower lip, and let the pain pull him back from the edge. This was a place where the Beast couldn't be allowed dominance. Caleb stepped forward, and started looking for the man he needed to talk to before any other. He'd been provided with a passable description of Konrad Roth, good enough to probably spot him in the crowd. Identifying what looked to be him talking with a few others, Caleb moved swiftly to join them.

The soft click-clack of high heels proceed ahead of their owner down the stairs leading from the Mortal area of Nox into the Kindred underworld. Once, the lithe brunette descending into Court would have been more concerned about any stray bits of fuzz that had snuck their way onto the sleeveless Little Black Dress, or if the Paul Andrew Gladiators were just the right shade of black to match. Tonight, she can only wonder what she'll find at the bottom of the stairs.
She knew what she would feel; the surge of mindless rage from deep inside as the Beast called out to assert its dominance over the lessers it found itself surrounded by. Perhaps mixed with the sudden drop in the pit of what was once her stomach when one older than she answered back. Already she can hear the muted murmurs and babble of conversation; voices too indistinct to pull her Beast to the surface in force; but enough to rouse it from it's slumber and send an anticipatory shiver down her bare back.
Sacramento had always been a city in motion, Kindred arriving and departing the Domain with a certain frequency that ensured stability without stagnation. Still, there were a handful of certainties the Kindred of the Domain could anchor their unlives to. Caira can't help but wonder how her time away from the city might have eroded those once stable pillars.
As she descends the last few stairs and turns into Court proper, the female Ventrue forces all other thoughts from her mind as she steadies herself against the full force of so many Kindred gathered in once small space. The waves come one after the other; small and petty; but with such frequency that they can overwhelm a person just as easy as one large wave of emotion. After a moment, the anger falls away as thin fingers uncoil from fists Ciara didn't even notice she had made.
Unsure whom to approach, the young looking woman remains near the entrance to the Elysium; scanning the gathered Kindred for familiar faces...
"Of course, Priscus," Asa answered David Regan .
The silence between the Shadow's question and his answer had been spent watching the subjects of discussion -- as well as picking out the other names mentioned in the letter. It was only when he began to look for the familiar, he noticed how very, very many were unfamiliar. It was almost enough to pause Twist and keep her close by, but he did not.
Like the edges of congealing blood contracting, they began to attach themselves to their Prisci... and it wasn't lost on the Lord how none seemed to mind the lack of a Ventrue Priscus.
Until there was a Ventrue Priscus.
Months, maybe even years, had passed since he'd felt the Predator of the thin woman that had appeared. The sound and fury of his own couldn't keep an eyebrow lifting in surprise or a small smile from parting through the polite indifference that had been left in the poacher's wake.
Asa waited for Ciara Maskelyne to see him. It was inevitable, not because he was so self-absorbed to think he couldn't be overlooked, but because he was tall. And when she did, he invited her over with a gesture.
Kenneth prowled the edges of the court, waiting for his and the Beast's anger to calm. Eventually his more complex rage against Robert calmed. The instincts never quieted.
He continued to observe as the other Kindered moved and hunted within the social environment. One in particular kept getting the Gilroy's attention. It was a new comer and their vampiric nature was obfuscated. Yet every time Kenneth looked over to them, it felt as if the subdued Kindred had just looked away. As if he were always watching Gilroy except when the worm turned to look at him. It was unnerving. What could the man want with Kenneth, having just arrived? Gilroy set out to find out.

David is a stoic, forgettable presence by the Prince of the Domain waiting for the man's dismissal. Nell's fingers wrapping around his thin arm, more for her benefit than his, serves as an anchor point in the void. However, the silence has never bothered David. On the contrary, the lack of an apparent need to fill the silence with small talk comforts him. In the moments between the initial ask and Asa 's answer, David follows the Prince's lead and observes the crowd.
Whatever David thinks about the disappearing backs of Fringe and Priss, is kept to himself.
Asa's answer prompts another bow and after, David peels away from his orbit, guiding Nell Cooper along with him. Only after he leaves the immediate presence of Asa does he notice Jacob Maddox ( White ) hovering nearby. As David moves, he quietly invites the man to join him if he chooses.
“I'm not keeping you away from anyone, am I, Miss Cooper?” The Priscus asks, allowing Nell a graceful departure from him should she want it.
