(SC 2016) Is this a Party?

"Well, that's six Springs so far and all the ones I know," he said as Coco went inside "A lot of them are new though, so there might be more." New faces weren't unheard of. How important those new faces would be to choosing a new monarch... it would remain to be.

He gave a gentle smile at her apparent nerveousness and unstated remark to get the Coronation party underway.

"Well, if you're wanting to dance I'm willing," he offered "Got to warn you though; and Ava can vouch for this; I'm not the best."

"Ahh." Mhairi nods as Daniel tells her about the Springs, and of the new faces. It seemed that most of who Mhairi had met so far had been new faces, the joy being when she met another Freeholder and the oath sang between them. It was nice. A very, very nice feeling. Belonging, trust.

Mhairi's lips quirk upward forming her near trademark crooked smile when the gravewight smiles at her.

"Sure!" she chirps. "It's-ah been a-a long time since I've donned my dancing shoes. So-ah I'll excuse your two-ah left feet, if you-ah excuse mine!" It really had been far too long since she'd been dancing. "But-ah-ah. Erm...music?" she stumbles over, it was easier to dance to a beat, but she'd missed dancing enough that she'd go without.

"Sounds like a deal," he said with a sympathetic smile. Public singing or dancing performances weren't really his things but as a social activity it was always fun.

"And don't worry about having no music. You just need to be able to count to dance. Gotta live life to its fullest for tomorrow we die and all that. Up for a swing dance?" he asked as he offer her his hand. "Doesn't matter if it goes wrong so long as someone gets swung."

Mhairi takes Daniel's offered hand. She'd never-ever did any sort of swing dancing before. But It would be better fun then just standing around! Thought he elemental wishes she'd had something to drink before the dancing, but she'd just have to live with any possible embarrassment.

And it looks like she hasn't forgotten to hit a playlist in her mind! With a bright, albeit crooked smile, Mhairi offers to take the lead.

Daniel smiled as they began. Despite the lack of music, they both managed to get on the same time. In fact, Mhairi was probably a better follower than he was a leader. She seemed able to anticipate cues and did enough spinning spinning to make him dizzy without missing a beat. Fog swirled in a light breeze, while flecks of quicksilver got flung across the room before dissolving into glamour.

"See, don't need music. We can be our very own flash mob," he teased lightly.

"So did you dance as part of training with fans?" he asked. She was good enough that she had had practice of some sort. It was easy to imagine her doing something like capoeira but with war fans. Not that Daniel had any realistic idea of how someone would fight with sliding plates of steal. Mortal Combat fighting styles were not the most accurate things to base expectations on.

Laughter escapes Mhairi. "This is fun!" she chirps as she spins.

"Uh-Yeah. Dace training is always-ah helpful. Well...I used to be a real klutz when I was younger. Mom-ah." A shadow of grief crosses her features, "She-ah had to do something to help my-it-I-mean-it." Clearly this was a lie. "At the-my-ah klutzy-nes." Mhairi frowns, she'd already told folks of her thievery and her skills therein, why was she stumbling over speaking about her training. "I needed to train away my klutzy...because...I was failing at pick pocketing practice." Surly the alteration would help.

An announcement is made for all to hear.

Daniel gave her a look that was surprisingly free of judgement, though there was some sorrow as there always was in his expression. After all, he had hardly had a youth without sin. However, he saw that talking about her mother caused Mhairi pain. It was hard to tell whether that related to the fact that her mom had required her to train to steal, or just about talking about her family like most Changelings.

"That's cool," was all he could offer supportively before the giant entered and made his announcement that would have made a sloth jump.

"Did you want to go swear your oath?" he asked, giving her a way out to renew the seasonal pledge.

'That's cool?' Mhairi blinks, huh. Not what she'd expected, but her dance partner was a Winter...

"He's loud." is her obvious statement as she listens to the sandy elemental's announcement as she watches the flowers bloom and the new Spring Queen join the party.

"Thanks. For-ah the dance. It was fun. So thanks. But-ah yeah. I should go and renew my pledge. Wouldn't want to-ah forget about that!" Mhairi finishes with a laugh. "Thanks. Again for the-fun dancing time. Even if was short. Uh-thanks." She gives the gravewight a wave as she steps away, and walks over towards the new Spring Queen.

Mhairi goes to here to renew her Freehold Pledge.

"Yeah, it was fun," he agreed as Mhairi "We'll have to try again with an actual beat next time."

He returned he wave as she entered the orbit of the new Spring Queen.
